My guess is, it will be a 1 goal game. Both teams are playing well at this time.

KRACH rankings say 185-to-82 odds in favor of RV (little better than 2-to-1). KRACH doesn't have enough data to be as accurate as it will be by year end, and there is always room for an upset too of course (depending on which team you view as the better team)...

Any idea what the shot/penalty counts were in these two games? I agree, common opponents are some of the best indicators of what will happen head-to-head, but always nice to know more details about penalty/shot counts from common opponents, if any players were ill/injured, etc. etc. but even that doesn't always make for perfect prediction either obvioulsy...

I think Roseville should win but this is the year of the tie so I think it will end up a tie.

If Stillwater plays as they did vs. CDH (save the first 5 minutes) they should be in the game. It will undoubtedly require their best effort to date for a potential win...and of course strong defensive and goaltending performances but I'm convinced they have it in them. Anything less than a complete 51 min. effort and...

1st goal(s) very big in this one I think.

Then again if we were to use the KRACH rankings to set odds at this juncture then Holy Angels would be more than a 5 to 1 favorite to beat Eden Prairie, assuming they were to play tonight. And I KNOW wouldn't take that bet!

Great thought, and I for one might take that bet, minus the points though. That would be a great match up! But I'd say more like a 2-1 kind of game in favor of AHA, or even 1-1 maybe with OT to who? At least by what both teams have shown so far.

Based on the results and SOS so far this season and if they were to play each other today or tomorrow, I would rate Holy Angels vs. Eden Prairie as a toss-up. But certainly any reasonable person who follows the girls' game would not try to make a serious case that AHA should be a 5-1 favorite, as the KRACH rankings would currently indicate. And yes, the KRACH rankings will become more accurate over the next few weeks as some very good matchups are played.

As far as Roseville vs. Stillwater is concerned, I think Roseville has to be considered a slight favorite going in, at least on paper, but Stillwater is easily capable of winning. As usual in closely matched games it will come down to goaltending, special teams and some element of luck - not necessarily in that order. In a "one game series" anything can happen.

I'll step up and admit I was way off about Stillwater. I saw them beat Cretin 5-1 and I also saw Roseville and Cretin tie 1-1. I know that should point to a good game but I just thought the Roseville game was much faster paced and Roseville had a big edge in overall team speed. Maybe they do but I guess Stillwater hung with them.

I'd be interested in hearing any comments from someone who saw this game. Sounds like it was a real barnburner with the flurry of goals at the end of regulation. At least based on shots Roseville appears to have had an edge in play.

Congrats to Callie for stepping up big in a big game.

Stillwaters team has been forced to mature on the fly, they are a very well coached team and played the faster roseville team tough by taking away the passing lanes and jumping on every little mistake roseville made..both these programs are textbook examples of how a team should be built and thats why you can count on them being in mix every year. I'm impressed on how this young stillwater team has matured so fast and if there growth continues they will be unstoppable come tournament time

From just looking at the boxscore, it appears that special teams play was huge in this game... What was the penalty count like? Did either team receive an advantage in this department? Could this have skewed the shot count?

Special teams played big part, Penalties both sides of ice, but advantage Stillwater, Roseville tied it up on Power Play 5 on 3, then went ahead, then Stillwater tied it up on 5 on 3 all in the 3

Actually, many of these kids played against each other in the U12A State Championship in 2003, and in the Semi's in 2004.

Both these teams can really fly - would have to give a slight edge to Roseville in terms of team speed, but STillwater is just a hair behind. Both teams are extremely well coached - very tenacious, and lots of offensive skill and firepower.

Special teams played a HUGE part. In the 3rd period alone, both teams were called with simoultaneous minor penalties to two players - which gave the other team a full 2 minute 5 on 3. Roseville scored the tying goal and the go ahead goal on theirs, while Stillwater scored the subsequent tying goal on theirs.

The game was a real treat to watch. Too many highly skilled players on both sides to name names, but Dahl and Cody are really big time big game players. The best part is that they get to go at it again in January at STillwater.

Roseville is as good as touted, and their ranking is well justified. Stillwater is better than people have given them credit for, and they will climb up the rankings throughout the season.

I'm not surprised that it was worth the price of admission, nor am I suprised that these two teams are two of the best out there. The SOS for SW is tough. They, like HM, will be ready as a result of this come sections.

This is what I love about HS Sports in general, but specifically Girls HS Hockey...... The kids bust their butts in practice all week, and then come game time they play their hearts out for nothing more than pride in themselves, their team, and their communities.

I paid $6 for a great night of entertainment from these young ladies, in contrast to tonight's Wild game, where I will pay $78 to watch a game with much less emotion and pride, not to mention that we can't get our $7MM man to play hockey for over 2 months now because of an injury ??? You should see the ice packs on these girls after most games !!!!!!!!
