Two great games. AHA has now lost 2 in a row. Not a bad time for a slump though. I am sure that they will right their ship by the end of January. Great for Stillwater! Always hard to replace the loss of a great player to graduation.

EP being taken to OT 2 times in recent weeks is a surprise. At the beginning of the season I thought that we were headed for another 30-0 season for EP and no one would be able to touch them. These scores give me hope that there are teams out there that can knock off EP.

Kaposia Schedule

Too bad that NP and AHA have to meet for a third time. I am sure that this is disappointing to both teams.

Semi-Finals should be good. It will be interesting to see if NSP can hang in there against a very good Roseville squad.

Stillwater is the surprise here. Who knows maybe they can knock of EP.

Not only that, but on Monday New Prague will play either South St. Paul or Hibbing, and they have already played both teams this year.

I am sure that NP would love another crack at Hibbing. The outcome the last time they played was not as close as I thought it would have been. I am sure that NP will be ready this time.

Aaargh. Another OT loss

The NP Hibbing game in November was closer than the score looked. NP led most of the way, but Hibbing came from behind and scored four third period goals, if I remember correctly.

Kaposia Scores

I think the final of the SSP/Hibbing Game was 4-2 in favor of Hibbing

Stillwater 5
EP 6 (OT)

I think that makes 3 OT games in a row for EP this time they scored with 8.2 seconds left.

I s'pose some of us are less surprised than others by the competitiveness and general quality of the Ponies...at least I didn't think I was blowin' smoke when I mentioned I believed they were better than indicated by their ranking...personally. I'm still convinced of that. As for knocking off EP...didn't happen obviously, but the possibility was never "far fetched" in my mind. EP is clearly an excellent team, but to those who may think they're head and shoulders above Stillwater, Roseville, AHA and a few others...I would disagree with that. Anyway, it was a darned entertaining game it was.

Wow! It looks like E.P. might get beat this year? I also heard from somebody that was at the game and they said E.P. outplayed Stillwater but had some goalie issues?

Goalie issues was it! Many soft goals aganist EP. Give credit to Stillwater, they played hard and made a game of it. EP, doubled their shots but needed all the time allowed to beat the Ponies. It was a great game, it went back and forth with teams exchanging goals 1 after another.

Anybody know who is playing in the Championship Monday night. If Roseville advances it should be a classic rematch of their overtime a few nights back!

EP did not double stillwaters shots. The shots where 23-17 and the game really could have gone either way. I would not say that EP had goalie issues either, give stillwater more credit than that, they played EP very tough. I thought EP outplayed stillwater the first period, but the 2nd and 3rd were pretty even. Talking to some college scouts after the game, they all thought stillwater was very impressive and loaded with young talent.

Stillwater played very well, they're a tough hard-nosed team. But there were some soft goals. EP will get beat eventually--they're not invincible the way they've been described (this was the first I've seen them). They do forecheck and backcheck really well. It seemed like Stillwater had no room to operate, and EP kept it up the whole game. And they have some absolute snipers.

Interestingly every final round Kaposia game is a rematch for this season!

NP v SSP
Hibbing v AHA
NSP v SW
EP v RV
