Trying again.....Here is a thread to continue the Alex vs Crookston argument and to allow the other thread to get back to the original topic.

Will these teams play again this season??? I suppose I need to look at a schedule to figure this out or if it will be at state if at all, etc....

Not during regular season schedules based on the MSHSL schedules. It sounds like it must have been a whale of a game.

Is this a new rivalry created just out of this one holiday tourney game???

Brackets

6 vs 8 does not look like it would happen until the Championship game if they both kept winning through the play-offs.

Never know what happens in play-offs.

Not sure about the rivalry piece but they were both unbeaten before that game. They both certainly have passionate fans.

There's no rivalry. It just so happens that alot of these girls had played together, through the years, on the same Select teams. The girls themselves are good friends. It would be fun if they played again, but I guess it wouldn't be until the championship game of state (certainly do not want to hex either team......knock on wood)!!

Sounds like a good friendly rivalry building... Two very solid Class A programs ranked near the top in the state! Hope they will get a game against each other next year and you never know if they'll meet @ state - but there are some other very solid teams too that they'd have to get thru (Blake being my early favorite in A)...

An out-state championship game would be great and it's very realistic, because I'm not sure Blake can get by Alex and/or Hibbing.

Curious~who else do others see as out state or non-metro teams that have the potential to play at state in A or AA?
