I have to disagree. I don't feel that AHA came into the game cocky....They were the target. Whoever beats them looks like kings. Apple Valley played a very good defensive game. The twin towers on each side of the net did a great job stopping shots then dumping the puck down to the other end. That set AHA away from their game. The other point was half-way through the second period, Barriball missed a completely open net (he doesn't do that very often). The people around me all knew that was a turning point in the game. If, and I mean If Jay scores AHA ties the game and blows the lid off the game. But that is not what happend and AV went on to the 5AA championship and looked pretty bad against an average Eagan team. I know I was at the game.....

Back to the topic, the AHA / Edina game would be fun, but we will never know unless they meet in the tournament......

To set the record straight the forum is about Holy Angels and Edina...THIS YEAR!!

Yeah, it was an analogy, not actually talking about them last year.

stars, the one thing I really disagree with in your post is putting Edina down for beating Cretin. Cretin is a good team regardless of the missing players, you can't try to take that away from Edina. I'm not saying Edina wouldn't get trampled by the Stars, but it's just a bad comparison. There's only one team this year that will be close to the Stars and that team is not a part of the MSHSL...

I wasn't putting Edina down for beating cretin. I was saying that at the time, given the teams that Centennial beat, they were playing better than Cretin.
AT THE TIME Cretin, with their two best players out, were not as good as Centennial after coming off a win against Moorhead. Do you really disagree with that?

If they've come out on top all year, how did they lose? I look forward to an explination
Edina LOST ONE GAME, because they don't have teams like Farmington Hutchinson, and Northfield on their schedule. Teams coming up like Prior Lake, New Prague, Red Wing, osseo, and shakopee. They have a demanding schedule where they can't take games off and still win by 10. Edina's Schedule consists of CD-H(twice), Rosemount, GR, EP, Buffalo, STA, BSM, Century, Armstrong, Burnsville, Cloquet, Minnetonka, Wayzata, and Elk River. Slight difference? i think so....Maybe if AHA would play consistently tough schedule i would give them more credit! yeah tahts my response to that

I still don't get it you said they have come out on top all year...but now you change your story to just make excuses.

11 EDINA 18.58
12 CLOQUET 18.57
13 GRAND RAPIDS 18.48
14 HOLY ANGELS 18.46
This is the strenght of schedule according to PS2 rankings. and you are right Edina has a SLIGHTLY tougher schedule. But one thing still holds true, only one of these two teams(Edina, & Holy Angels) have beaten Chaska.

Holy Angels 10 Chaska 3
Edina 2 Chaska 3

See the difference?

Notice how you only name 5 good teams
CDH (Key injuries in both games)
STA
BSM
CEC
Minnetonka

Holy Angels play:
Hill-Murray x2
Centennial
Roseville
Shattuck St. Marys
BSM
Minnetonka
New Prague

But your right, they dont have ANY tough games...

So ya got anything substantial this time?

What team are you on? Chaska?

I saw Edina at the St Thomas game and they were FAST. Well quick at least. If you're saying the the Stars are 4 goals faster, that's awesome.

Grand Rapids is a good team too. They took them down to the wire without Patrick White.

First of all don't dig into Burnsville, Wayzata, and Buffalo (Buffalo has a good record, but has lost every game to ranked opponents) for strength of schedule. One thing you really don't understand is that AHA played in Schwans Cup GOLD, the best pre-state tournament in High School Hockey. AHA absolutely dismantled every team they played. Unlike Edina who had to squeeze past STA in the first round.

AHA's schedule consists of, Hill Murray (twice), BSM, Shattuck, Minnestonka, Wayzata (you put it on so I had to too), Roseville, Centennial, Northfield (ranked or I wouldn't put them on), New Prague (same). If you want to go into the Missota Conference thing its simple... This is year in and year out the best conference for Football. Also very good in baseball and basketball. If AHA leaves for hockey, they must also leave for those other sports. Trebil has stated that he wants to leave the conference to bring more credibility to the team, but the school will not allow it. DEAL WITH IT. The fact of the matter is, AHA has CRUSHED all of their tough non-conference opponents.

Just FYI...

See the difference?
Teams Rated by Strength of Schedule (PageStat2)
RANK TEAM AVG
1 CENTENNIAL 19.79
2 WHITE BEAR LAKE 19.62
3 MOORHEAD 19.53
4 DULUTH EAST 19.17
5 ROSEVILLE 19.15
6 MINNETONKA 19.02
7 CRETIN DERHAM HALL 19.01
8 WAYZATA 18.78
9 MAPLE GROVE 18.78
10 STILLWATER 18.74
11 EDINA 18.58

27 HILL MURRAY 17.78

And I recall you telling me that Centennial had the easiest schedule of any 3AA contender Wisconsinprephockey.

I think that AHA has a little more talent, so they would come out on top. I could be wrong though since i havn't watched these two teams very closely.

Well Hill played AHA too, not sure of your point.

You also predicted Centennial getting swept out of the Schwans...

So you're telling me theres something to look forward to? Anywho back on topic, AHA beats Edina(the way both teams are playing now) 9 out of 10 times. You always have te leave the chance of an upset in high school hockey. Especially when you have a talented team like Edina.

Just a note for Edina supporters, I didn't want to rag on Edina. I have been supporting the campaign for Edina as a top 5 team since before the Schwans Cup. Now that they won however y'all got carried away. Edina is a very talented team. They are just simply overmatched in this one game.

I'm glad we all finally agree.
