Yes, you can't ride the player off like you use to with the new rules. You have to play the puck more. Yes the new rules are tight. The new rules have cleaned the game up of interference, holding, hooking. You can not even touch a player above the waist with your stick anymore. The rules are very strick and now it's time to play skilled hockey. Take a look at the European hockey and the clean checking and skill they play. They poke check, stick check and they will ride you off the puck at a angle and take the puck away all in one stride.

Look at how much faster the nhl and college games are now with the new rules. It has opened up the flood gates for skilled players and alot more scoring. College games use to be boring with all the holding and hooking and now look at it , they cleaned it up and it's alot more fun to watch. The nhl is better to because of the new rules and they took out the red line (two line pass) and there is alot more scoring. Nobody wants to go to games that only score 1 or 2 goals, we want to see the lamp on alot.

ZAMBONI,

Any information on where Alex Carlson of Farmington is playing this year?

USHL?

Certainly not that lowly NAHL that Breuer and Trail are playing in, right?

Somewhere else?

you are a typical moron! the refs were against al before the JV game. they called the al varsity captains liars for confronting them about Faribault ferries shooting pucks at them and checking them during warm ups. also you were to busy sitting on this site putting comments about your son on here and putting down al when you werent even at the game. dont comment on how cheap al is and they need to learn how to check and what not when they were hitting just fine. also your son is playing jr b in colorado and let me guess he knows how to hit correctly. Also there wasnt to many hookings or trippings if any at all see you were not at the game so again shut your trap. Also i dont recall AL being taught to be cheap ever you tell me one year you have been at a prac or a game when the coaches were telling al kids to be cheap. How many years have you coached one or two when your kid was a squirt and there WAS NO CHECKING IN SQUIRTS! If you think you could do better and teach kids how to play the game why are you not out there coaching teams to state!! You just think you know everything about the game but did you ever play???? The only thing you know is the correct form on how to wash tables! o wait you may not even know the correct form of that considering you got demoted to elementary schools!!

Sounds like a very interesting argument, I guess it makes for more replies but I'm not sure complaining and quarelling on here changes anything. Learn from it and get better because of it.

whoever you are this is a very interesting argument AL could play the best game of their lives and zamboni aka hotshot and other names he has would find something to rip on the players and the coaching staff. he is the first person i have ever heard of calling AL cheap and or being taught to be cheap!!! what a douche! they are taught to work hard and play through rough times like they did last night and they did and came back from 4-1 with less than 5 min. left to 4-3. when the game was 5 on 5 it was a good game. which the REFS did not have a clue the whole game the brought a faceoff at the end of the game outside of faribaults zone when there goalie had the puck covered. Kinda of weird and the explanation of the ref to the coach was AL players were around the net and he was accusing one of the AL players of knocking the net off. why in the world would one of the AL players knock the net off i am pretty sure he was pushed or one of the falcons knocked it off!!!!!!!

o ya zamboni taking the body the whole game wears down the other team doesnt wear you down!!! just thought i would let you know a secret about hitting!!

Your the one crying about the refs when you lose the games. Why don't you cry about the refs when you win the games? See, to you guys the refs are only bad when you have lost. I have listened to your coach say the refs were bad, or the goalie was hot, or we were short players when you guys lose. You win , lose or tie the game. The rest is just excuses. NO MORE EXCUSES.

Still didn't get that info about where Alex Carlson is playing hockey.

Just like the facts: you either win or lose, excuses are crap.

You either make it playing Junior A/D-I after high school, or you don't.

lunchladyman18, if that is your real name.
Don't sweat ZAMBONI. I have no idea why he comes around and taunts the AL fans and puts down his hometown. A town in which he still lives, but it is what it is.

You have to realize who you're dealing with, someone with a few years of officiating experience, very little playing experience and even less coaching experience. He is someone who enjoys hockey and is proud of his son's accomplishments although not really accomplishing much himself.

What's difficult for me to comprehend is how someone like him has the nerve to question Roy Nystrom's coaching abilities. I don't even think ZAMBONI played HS hockey and Roy Nystrom has OVER 40 years of coaching experience at the HS level. That said, Roy Nystrom has been coaching at a level higher than ZAMBONI even played almost as long as ZAMBONI has been alive. So, who's the "expert"?

Keep in mind that he has the right to express his "thoughts' here, but you also have to keep in mind that we have the obligation to mock him for those "thoughts".

All I know is the Al and Faribault game last night was wild. I hear that some Faribault players were shooting pucks at AL players in warm ups. :x What kind of hockey are they teaching up there.... ..I also heard that most of the penalities were weak...WHATS THE DEAL....Hometown REFS :-k

RSI. Scotty Bowman is a retired head coach of the NHL Detroit Red Wings and he has never played the game and he has 9 or 10 stanley cup rings. Nystrom is a HOCKEY GOD To the albert lea fans, but to the rest of the state he is just another good coach. I have never said roy was a bad coach. What I have said is the coach needs to take more control when the players are taking stupid penalties. The same with the lower youth levels. Start benching the players from the start of the year and they will get the message. The team that stays out of the penalty box has the best chance to get the win. Like I said last year, usa hockey should have a mandatory checking school for all first year " pw" level players. Also the hockey association does not have to wait for this to happen and they can make every player go to this training. If you teach the player how to give and take a check the proper way there is less penalties and less players getting hurt. Teach them the correct way at a young age and you won't have this problem at high school. HAVE FUN.

no matter if they know how to check or not, it shouldn't be nystrons job to deal with that at the varsity level.. in the heat of the game things happen when you play the chippy farbo or anyone else for that matter.. when you are on the ice you just react. sometimes its not always the correct form.

as for the refs, i wasn't at said game, but i have noticed dome crappy penalties called this year. interference when you check a guy with the puck under him?? come on, horrible.

furthermore as to the reference to nhl nad college: remember this is HIGH SCHOOL!!!

ZAMBONI = Scotty Bowman

Sounds like ZAMBONI would be the savior to Albert Lea hockey. Get your skates out coach, you can make a difference!

Start with that PW level checking clinic! You could educate hockey players AND make a little dough. Or you could do it for free if wiping tables is paying the bills!

What is the update on your kid? Where's he playing?

No clinic ZAMBONI? You'd be a huge asset to the ALYHA!

How about that Farmington kid? Anyone know where he's playing this year?

Why don't you people take this little pissing contest out back of the AL elementary school and get it off this forum. Nobody cares. Get back to talking 1A hockey rather than the same crap you had on here last year.
