All Slappy’s talk of Colorado helped AP remember Pioneer hockey great, Frank Xavier, who commuted all the way from the Rocky Hills to learn religion at ours.

One day, future Miss Minnesota*, Vicki Plaster, said, “Frank, is that your kid brother, because he looks just like you?!”

Xavier smiled wryly, “No, he’s not, but you’re right in that he’s one good-looking young stud!”

So who was the handsome young ankle-skater to make Frank Xavier jealous and Miss Minnesota blush?

Slappy did not get the opportunity to play in HS tourney, but he does not hold that agianst us 'pagans'.

And from all accounts and to a lesser degree my own memory the boy could play.
