Barry Bonds

Post by goldy313 »

According to the New York Daily News Barry Bonds failed a test for amphetimines, blaming the positive test on something he got from teammate Mark Sweeney's locker (haven't we heard this before?). Under baseballs drug policy a first positive test means the player is unamed and subject to more tests. While MLB hasn't named Bonds as of yet, several unnamed sources confirmed Bonds tested positive. A second test results in a 25 game suspension. Bonds did not appeal the test results.

Barry may be the stupidest human being on the face of the earth, already under the suspicion of steroid use and under a Federal Grand Jury investigation for perjury, you would thik he might be ust a little careful about what he puts in his mouth, and more importnat what he says. No chance this guy gets into the Hall of Fame, and fair or not he's going to drag some guys like McGwyer down with him.

Why would any of these guys blame a teammate? They're the ones that can make or break the credibility of your story. As for McGwire, anyone that thinks he didn't take something is blind or ignorant, however it was not against the rules of Major League baseball at the time McGwire played.

It's really going to be a shame when/if Bonds breaks Aaron's home run record. Talk about a contrast in character between those two. The worst part of this story is Bonds' throwing his teammate under the bus, if you're going to make an excuse, don't bring your teammate into the fray.

Apparently, somebody has leaked that Bonds did test positive for amphetimines. This means that sometime during this past summer Bonds failed one amphetimine test. According to the current rules regarding a failed amphetimine test, after the first failed test the player's name is not released but he it subject to six random drug tests over the next six months. Since MLB has not announced that Bonds has failed an amphetimine test, it is safe to say that he did not fail again. The reason that his name was most likely leaked was because he is not a member of the Major League Baseball Players Association. The Players Association would likely let Bonds take the whole fall of this test, while protecting their member players, like Mark Sweeney.

Also, it's McGwire, not McGwyer or MacGyver for that matter. :)

I guess if it weren't for Bonds' sparkling personality (insert laugh here) I would actually side with the guy much the way I do with McGwire.

Find it very interesting that no one cared what McGwire did when the Great Home Run Race of 98' was on, but now the guy can't get into the Hall. Pretty sad how writers can be so two-faced. Baseball looked the other way when steroids were used back then, so I don't think you can penalize a guy for it now if he is no longer playing.

Bonds has gotten to the point in my mind where he is totally unbelievable in anything he says and his attitude does not help him at all. I think at this point he is going to do whatever it takes to keep himself in the spot light and his name clean even though we all know it's not.

Barry Bonds needs to retire and never be seen again. I'm tired of his lame excuses when he gets caught doing something illegal.

I agree 100% with that!! I really hope he does not break Hank Aaron's home run record! The fact of the matter is he will.
