MG vs. Tonka

Post by blueblood »

MG had the better scoring chances in the game, even though Tonka outshot MG.

Both teams experienced some lapses in play.

Haven't seen Edina Green yet.

This is MG's third shot at a title this year. Is the third time a charm?

EP Black didn't play. Next up is a visit to the House of the Skipper on Friday and a visit from the Happy White Hornets on Sunday. We need the time off for practice and time to get healthy.

Grand Rapids Scores

Edina Green vs Grand Rapids 6-0
White Bear Lake Black vs. Mpls Park 7-0
Minnetonka vs. Moorhead 5-4
Maple Grove vs. Duluth East 2-1 OT

Cons Semi
Grand Rapids vs. Mpls Park 6-0 I think
Duluth East vs. Moorhead 3-2

Semi Finals
Edina Green vs. White Bear Lake Black 5-3
Maple Grove vs. Minnetonka 4-1

7th Place
Moorhead vs Mpls Park 10-0

5th Place
Duluth East vs. Grand Rapids 4-0

3rd Place
White Bear Lake Black vs. Minnetonka 4-3

Championship
Maple Grove vs. Edina Green 5-2

In my eyes the tourney was very even other than Mpls Park. Grand Rapids had a up and down tournament and showed stints of good hockey with a few break downs that cost them. I was very happy with it and the way it was ran. Star of the North always a classic.

Hey hockeyman1606,

The Woodbury game was very even. I think Woodbury had more shots, but the EP goalie was on his game.

on the woodbury ep red game: i was there for only a brief few minutes and from what i saw and heard, ep outplayed woodbury by far. i also heard that woodbury took it to ep red in the second but ep came back late in the second and buried them. from what i saw showed that the game was all ep red. and as for how d6 plays it it will be because of hard work and determination because a lot of teams are still in it.

White bear 4 Minnetonka 3 in Grand Rapids tourney 3rd place game.

White bear scored a shorthanded goal with 6 seconds left in the game to beat minnetonka.

One of minnetonkas goals also got disallowed when it was clearly in.

But otherwise a very good game

As they probably deserve and have earned.
Tough wearing and keeping that target on your back (& front) the remainder of the year.
