If GR plays anywhere close to this past weekend, 7-2 winners. If they let down, somewhere in the 4-2 3-2 range either way. Have always had a tough time in Virginia.
What a letdown. I thought Rapids had figured themselves out by now. They just took about 20 steps backwards. They'll never be a good or great team until several of their players realize they can't win games by themselves. Hats off to Virginia cause they obviously came to play. They did what it took to win and nothing is gonna change that. The Rapids players and coaches never adjusted, and a few players decided they could win it by their lonesome. If you were there, you would have witnessed at least 3 - 3 on 1 breaks for Grand Rapids where the puck carrier never even glanced at the two open players and decided to shoot from outside the circles. Defensively, Rapids looked overmatched again as d players were consistently out of position, and too many times defenseman were caught deep in the offensive zone. Maybe it's me, but I always thought that defenseman were supposed to play defense first. All in all, a poor showing by a team that's supposed to be better than that. Back to the drawing board Rapids, and try to get back on track, or it will be a shorter season than you hoped for.

I told you. GR let down and there's your 3-2 final. Virginia wanted it more and showed they have some talent. Look out for them come district and region time. People will try to say GR got reffed or whatever, and while the reffing was poor, they didn't cost GR the game. Virginia was hungrier, case closed.
agreed...virginia played well...and the reffing wasnt bad...i think penalties were about 5-3 in virginias favor, while rapids had about a minute of 5 on 3 that they couldnt do anything with....I wonder when ole buddy boblees gonna say something lol
