Confusing....... I think Orono is going to come out on top in this one, but in any case it's going to be a close game. I'll keep the streak of prediction snipes going and say:

Orono: 4
SCC: 2

There are two SCC teams - it all depends which one shows up.

If SCC plays like they did the first time they played Orono then I would say they can expect another L on the record. However, if SCC brings their game I would say they can expect to dominate Orono. They seem to be recovering from the loss of 2 starters and they look like they are bringing it back together. Because I am an optimist I would say...

Nate Schmidt for SCC is hurt with a broken wrist I believe. If he does not play, this will hurt SCC alot.

Even if Nate is out I think SCC will take this one. I know orono won last time but SCC will be very determined to get the W.
SCC-4
Orono-2
Good luck to both teams, it will be a great game to watch.

I think this will be one of the best games for both teams. This is between the top two teams in the Conference and both know a win is much needed. i think it will be very tight and in the end...

i am going to have to take orono 5-4 on this one, with nate injured i just dont think scc will be able to pull this one off!
P.S. does Orono have a goalie next year, because on their roster it says they have two senior goalies...?? is there any younger ones at all or any that are good at all, because they could have a solid team again next year.

the goalie situation is kind of weird at orono right now just like it was last year. gardner and wilson are sharing time in the JV games and are both currently suiting up and backing up peterson for varsity. at the beginning of the year wilson was playing all JV and gardner was just backing up varsity so thats how the roster was set. like last year, until the section tournament comes, nobody will know which goalie will back up peterson.

Well...the goalie situation is very very wierd...Wilson and Gardner both suit up...but Wilson wouldnt play...i think Brad is just getting people ready for the section roster...i believe he will take all 3 this year...or will just take 2...no one knows...but its very confusing when Gabos the sophomore jv goalie broke his hand the rotation for stuff is very confusing

Thanks for clearing this up boys  but just a question, why would the coach keep 3 goalies on the roster?

Well, back to the game and people's thoughts...

Both teams are good and deserving of their high rankings...However, I don't think SCC will play their worst two games of the year against the same team...

that being said...SCC by 2.

SCC had the last game won 2-1 until it took a deadly penalty at the end allowing Orono to tie it up with less than a minute to go. Then, Orono came out in the OT and took advantage of a gift turnover by SCC in its own end to win it.

I like both of these teams. However, if, and that's a big IF, SCC minimizes its penalties and plays with passion, I think it certainly can win this game.

In their last meeting, the consensus was that SCC played on the flat side. They'll need to pick up their play considerably in the rematch.

My prediction: SCC 4 Orono2

If CHS plays like they can, and the refs call the game consistently, I think it will be 3-2 CHS. If the same refs call the game that called it last year down there, Orono will win by 3. I'm NOT ref bashing, just calling it like I see it.

The officials didn't see all of it last year. They sure missed the intentional cheap shot of the year at the end of the first period when SCC's Crandell was given a groin shot that put him out of the game. Everyone except the officials on the Cathedral end of the rink saw the incident.

hate to be the one to let you in on this dirty little secret, but if the ref didn't see, he can't call it, so it aint a penalty

Well, Hawk, if they didn't see it, they shouldn't have been out there because everyone else saw it. The fans and coaches even pointed out the number of the player who did it, but the officials didn't seem to care. It was a classic "homer" case. Not to worry though, SCC remembered the incident and came back to defeat Orono 5-0 in the rematch.

So you would really want a ref to call something because the fans and the coaches and other players told him to? #-o
