on the other hand...either Ravndalen or Lehrke would be my pick....Ravndalen is a great player especially having Marvin with him out there...and Lehrke....he accelerates with the puck faster than anyone i have seen yet this year...he also has one heck of a snipe and he has shown good stats against better teams that tey play like...DL...Wadena and EGF...on the other hand Rav puts up some good stats against very good teams also....i guess its hard to say who is better....Warroad has a tougher schedule..but Park Rapids has one guy who happens to be Lehrke

Why does most every other section(besides 7AA) move it out of their section? They obviously have just as many nice rinks in their sections and they don't seem hell bent on keeping that money within their sections? It isn't about the host having a better chance of winning, that wasn't my point. The point was giving more people the opportunity to host it PERIOD. And if you can't do that (due to capacity reasons) move it neutrally so nobody hosts it. Like you said, 7AA is worse than this with Duluth East hosting it all the time, and that is far worse of a farse than this is. This, however, was a Section 8A thread and the reason I spoke about this section more so than the other. Either way, both should be revised IMO.

Everybody is beating a dead horse here: They will NEVER move the section games out of a section 8a venue now that the Ralph is in TRF. So either they keep it with a 3 town rotation as is or add another town to the rotation if another section 8a school gets a new arena. So you need to quit whining and pick your poison. Home ice for TRF every year or home ice for a team every 3 years. And thats the bottom line.

most other sections are in the cities where they have a multitude of nice, hospitable rinks to choose from. Where does section 7a play their games? We know 7aa's situation and 8aa's as well who are able to utilize a great rink and keep it neutral. So that is all the northern sections. The problem with trying to find a neutral site for 8a is that most teams would have to drive a rediculous amount of miles to all the games. Maybe Bemidji would be the closest semi descent rink to play at?

Grand Rapids, Bemidji(BSU maybe?), Moorhead?

Where is 8AA's played at?

Why can't 7AA be moved to Hibbing? Duluth East should have to travel like everybody else. Fairness and equality should outweigh convenience.

Didn't Moorhead have to travel all over the place in the 90's for their section playoffs(like the Cities or somewhere in between?)

8AA plays the final at the mini ralph which is a great idea for them. It is fairly central to the section, at least the two teams that will be in the final anyway and it is neutral. There really are no options like that for 8A which is part of the reason it will not be played anywhere other than TRF, Warroad, or EGF until another team builds a rink that will be large enough to host it.
But anyway, back to the actual topic of the post, i'd take Ravendalen over Lehrke any day. Anyone notice he put up 6 pts against TRF last night?

Yes, and the travel never kept them out of a state tournament that they deserved to play in. For the thousandth time, either you're good or you're not. Nobody has ever won three straight in late feb and early march because of home cooking.

i don't think that lehrke kid has dangles like bryce c'mon that kid makes players from the other team look like their stupid. plus he is a sniper with speed(probly not as fast as lehrke but still fast). my vote is ravndahlen

no dangles??.....i know Lehrke makes defenders look stupid...Lehrke is also a sniper....both are geat players...but if you have watched lehrke this year u have seen "dangles" and snipes.....Ravndalen did look very good against TRF.....Marvin and him working it

so thats the next twist then eh? who's the best baseball player that is also a junior that plays hockey? haha, i'm still going with Ravendalen. For all of you that think he's standing out because of Marvin, just wait till next year when you are all saying that the only reason Jeremy Hahn is standing out is because of Ravendalen....

I don't think he was putting a twist on anything SB24, he was just adding that, I don't know why either, but baseball aside, i saw Lehrke against LOW this year and i went to watched the Warroad-TRF contest, Lehrke is a better player than Ravendalen, and i'll still contest he has the edge on Marvin as well. Point being, there is no twist it is pure and simple, he is better, PR is at TRF this week in case you'd like to see.

The next twist? WHAT are you talking about? He's a good 2 sport athlete, that's all I was implying.

You may seem to think that Lehrke can only score against weak competition, but he's equally as good as his brother Tyler and he's playing at Bemidji St. right now scoring on D-1 teams. I can almost guarantee you Zach will be there in 2-3 years with him.

I think John Grabanski from egf could be one of the best junior hockey players in 8a. He has 26 points right now which would be top 7 in points in the section. And he also doesnt play the easy teams that Lerke plays. He also had a very good showing this week with 7 points.

The Beavers (my alma mater) are D1 hockey. (not while I went there) They ranked in the top 20 in the nation. I'd say going there and playing hockey is pretty good. If we can ever get this events center built here I be you'll see a new member in the WCHA.

SB24 i don't understand what you have against the kid other than he is a very talented player from a lesser know program than the traditional powers. As far as Bemidji State Hockey goes, that is a great hockey program, yeah they struggle with the Souix every year, but look at their overall record against the WCHA, swept UMD 2 years in a row among their wins, As for the younger Lehrke going there, yeah it is a possibility, but i bet he will play in the WCHA somewhere, so please don't show the rest of us how ignorant you are anymore.
