The fans and coaches even pointed out the number of the player who did it, but the officials didn't seem to care. It was a classic "homer" case. Not to worry though, SCC remembered the incident and came back to defeat Orono 5-0 in the rematch.
I am not a real fan of either team
I will agree that sometimes teams get homered, NO ONE (except mouthrunner) can argue that

If the ref didn't see it, it can't be called PERIOD

Do they use instant replay in the world cup? If not, it really doesn't matter what the ref saw on the big screen. Besides it's the world cup

As a poster biased toward the SCC persuasion, I can honestly say the Orono posters aren't THAT bad. Some of them are pretty annoying. Colinschroeder or whatever that tool's name is thinks he is some sort of zealot or something.

I can't say I care much for a lot of the orono posters either. Then again a couple of the SCC posters haven't been a lot better. Lets go with a tie. SCC 0
Orono 0

SOG 0 0
or scoring chances if that is what we look at now. 0-0  :D

I agree State Champ...all of those rowdy and obnoxious SCC kids that are non-stop on this board are frustrating. #-o

Anyway, back to the game. IMO, team defense may make the difference in this game. This could be a game where SCC really misses Schmidt. Orono has some nice good-sized defensemen. SCC's young D will have to step up and play tough, taking guys out at the blueline and forcing some turnovers. This might be a game where Olmscheid needs to log some serious minutes. SCC's junior defenseman needs to pick up his physical play as well, but doing so cleanly. If the SCC D can do this and their forwards back check like they did against DM, then SCC will take this one.

Oh I see the goose's problem. (or is it geese's) :-k  You were the guy that wanted refs to call something in favor of your team because your coaches, fans, and players all saw a penalty that the ref didn't. :-({|=

No StateChump, you're wrong again. The point was that the Orono refs somehow failed to see or refused to call a blatant and serious stick to the groin that everyone else in the arena saw. It happened in the corner where several players were going for the puck. It wasn't like one of those dirty plays that occur away from puck. It was a dirty play that occured for all to see.

How are the Orono fans --- this game is in their barn!

The talk about Nate Schmidt being out - he is good dont get me wrong but I serisouly dont think that it will have too much impact on the overall SCC team. Defense is a strong area of SCC and losing one player who is more offensively minded anyway only shows that the other players need to step up. In the games since Schmidt has been out Olmscheid has banked some serious points - look at Maxpreps for team and individual statistics. Also, John Rowe is one kid who I think will step up and be a big asset.

No matter what the outcome - it should be a good game!

Exactly-failed to see. A ref can't, won't, and shouldn't call what they don't see. All teams have been helped and burned by this at some point. Nobody likes it, but it is the human error side of things. Get over it and beat them this time if you are the better team.

So take it as a joke and move on. Besides maybe we should be discussing why the Orono faithful/players feel the need to start a thread for every game.

Okay, State, now I'm with you. I haven't noticed the Orono threads previously, but now that you point it out, I think you're right.
