I agree that EP and Edina will be hard to beat, but I've been impressed with Bloomington Jefferson, Blaine and Woodbury too. Each of these teams has risen to the challenge on different days - it's a shame there is so much competition in D6 because these teams would be fun to watch play their Northern competition. :D

edinawhite08,
how can you say that you will kill ep red when you have never outplayed them in all of your three games against them? do not go off and say that in one of them you only had 10 skaters or whatever because you still played them in the edina tourney and barely squeaked by them. the third time you played them you got outplayed and out worked. dont get me wrong, edina white is a superb hockey team with many talented players.

as for state, i believe that the winner will come out of d6 with edina white, ep red, edina green and burnsville looking like the favorites. however, only three of those four will make it to regionals.

DaBears you impress me with your opinions being such a young one and you keep it pretty real

D6 will win the state. flip a coin ....Ep red is riding the wave extremely well but it is what you do in the playoffs that matter.

Woodbury .....only because of an easy pathway to state. Chaska has beat them twice. Must be the match-up??

Duluth East must have been having an off game when Chaska played them but they did not impress me at all. The only player that stood out was the female goalie Paige (with the over bearing father)

Watch out for Burnsville and Elk River - those two teams have given Chaska the biggest lesson on how hockey should be played.

Let Moorhead in so we city teams can send them back to picking sugar beets

DaBears you play on the WBL B1 orange??
Will we see you in Anoka?
I'll buy you a soda if so if you score on #1

well duluth isnt a bad team but they are very on off. but you cant under estimate them just ask edina white who theyve taken into ot both games.

If Maple Grove can get out of D3, I wouldn't overlook them. They seem to be improving from game to game.

Comeing out of d6 I see a bit of an upset. Everyone is talking white, white, white, but the true color of Edina is Green. The older boys of Green will teach the white a lesson. Also throw in EP red and Burnsville.

Edina Green might have been looking past Tonka. As they are scheduled to play games against Wayzata Blue and Edina White in the next 8 days. But, Tonka deserves some cudos for their effort.

i am deffinatley not from moorhead. and trust me edinawhite08, your team still has an advantage over almost any other team: almost everyone on your team has a lot of skill. i dont believe that any team has a very high chance of winning state, its going to come down to which teams show up to play in regionals.

You Are Correct ME BOY!!!

fortunate bounces, stellar goaltending, good karma, play as a team mentality, and hope Quacker Tracker isn't refereeing your game ( sorry I couldn't resist  )

haha. nope actually i play for the white bear lake A bantams but i have seen plenty of B1 hockey this year because of friends and tourneys and whatnot....you get me. and I agree with what a lot of people have said this year about how in the top 20 any team can beat another and all that and i watched some B1 games and definitely saw that. The games were exciting especially ones like the WBL orange vs. WBL black, etc.

Northern B1

Post by Bud »

The small town "B" teams from the North can't compete with the B1 teams from the cities. Teams like Thief River or Roseau have maybe 28 kids try out for a team, the top 16 or so make the A team the rest are on the B team. That means the worst kids are on the "B1" team. Teams from the cities that have many B teams certainly don't have their worst kids on the B1 team. It's not really fair but there really isn't any other way to do it.

when you went to watch duluth east play, you saw one of our worst games. yes i plat for that team but when we went out for that game we were dog tired. just getting done playing edina white into ot then going to play in the UMD practice arena was brutal
