Thanks Tommy-Two-'S'es. Gotta give a lot of credit to those Boys from Blake as well. Not the best played by either team, but they definitely earned their win. Hard to believe there was any hockey being played, what with all the fun at the hotel. I swear to you when I am no longer coaching, I will still go to the Place with the Pirate Ship every year for this weekend. The Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. would have been proud - many different colors coming together to listen to 25-yr-olds play 35-yr-old songs WAY TOO LOUD AND WAY TOO LONG and drooling over the staff that was way too busy chastising a man for "Possession of an unlit firestick"!!
Couple of days of rest before we see the Hawks. Quite sure you'll be there and I need a couple minutes of your time on Wednesday night, so seek me out when you have a moment. I'd really appreciate it.

I was told to look at this forum ans see what is being written by Chaska players and parents. I just had to post a short comment. The attitude of one player is not the attitude of the entire team. He will no longer be posting on this forum.
There are players on the team that do show up and play there hearts out EVERY game. So let's try to keep them in mind from time to time and give just a little credit when it's due.

Since we probably know each other, I would only say that praise has been given when it has been deserved; however, false praise which is too prevalent in our society diminishes and tarnishes earned and true praise.Chaska FAN wrote:I was told to look at this forum ans see what is being written by Chaska players and parents. I do agree there are some players that show up almost every game - but it is a team game and to comment on specific individuals pro/or con would not be right in my opinion. Thus it becomes the sum of the whole team's performance that comments can be directed to.
Every player on every team should ask themselves after the game,
"did I make my team and teammates better in how I played tonight"?
If the answer is yes - then you have performed admirable and respected your sport well.
I agree with tA - I think a nice bit of credit to Chaska doled out by all forum participants when it is has been deserved. Unfortunately, as you point out, there was a bad apple in the barrel for a while and it did spoil the whole bunch for a short while. This is a good forum for him to NOT be in, so if he is out, that's a good thing. A lot of the recent dialogue has been centered on misinterpretations of tA's end of game comment (for which he has atoned for and been granted forgiveness by all that matter). The balance of the recent chat has been smack down of smack talk by the offending Chaska player, alot of which of which was provided by his own team mates. The fact is, the Chaska squad has been wildly inconsistent (proven again this weekend); this doesn't at all make them unique - the range of their hi's and lo's does to some extent, and is an invitation for discussion of all the different kinds of views that this forum invites. All in all, a bunch of good kids having fun on the ice, some wins and some losses, but isn't that what hockey for 13-15 year olds is supposed to be all about?
Tommy - I think you'd agree?

I wasn't asking for names or numbers or false praise. I think you guys need to back up and review some of the comments that have been made by Chaska's own. If this forum is meant for people to come on and vent their disgust at their own teams play, I am going to ban my boys from this site. They are hard enough on themselves.

Chaska fan - some fair feedback - a ban of your players would have been a good idea (it's my sense that other coaches and/or parents have done this) it's a little late now, but as I has been pointed out already the greatest firestorm was invited by letsrep19. Now THAT would have been a series of posts that your boys could have done without, that's for sure. Hopefully (or perhaps unfortunately) this is not dialogue that Chaska fans aren't sharing with you - my guess is they are - and if they are to you chances are good the boys hear them from mom and pops too.
