Best Coach in 8A

Post by State Champ 97 »

Well we talked about the best player, best junior, best sophmore, and best goalie in this section as well as some all-star lineups from it. So who is the best coach as far as getting the most out of what he has to work with?

Squirts?

Post by cuda701 »

Anyway, I guess it doesn't matter what level...they are all important. My point being the ref and coaching topics are always easy to post and critique, but difficult to do.

Personally, I'm waiting for the hottest cheerleaders in 8A thread that's bound to come up. Either that or the concessions with the best food in 8A. Both of those intrigue me.

But, since SC forces me to vote, I'll go with Stahnke. PR's youth #'s aren't what most of the other teams in the section are and the program is way better than it used to be - softer schedule or not.

Coach Kennett is a close 2nd. We won the championship with him as our coach at hockey camp in Bemidji. The thing I got from him is that he really cares about his players. Great coach, great guy off the ice as well.

Since I know some of these guys personally, my only comment is that as a group they might be the best in the state.

Of course, now I have slammed some other guys I know.

But I will say those that have had the opportunity to play for or be taught by, tCLASS act in hockey coaching, Dr. R. H. Peters, are some of the best.

I would go with Olson but he is a co-coach. So I give my vote to Perrault. Year in and year out, with little or no talent. He seems to put together a good group of kids.

That's all fine and dandy, but Roseau isn't allowed in the voting for hottest cheeleaders. We're strictly talking 8A here man. I'll accept the vote for LOW having the best concessions, though.

I would say tim bergland is a great coach. I know alot of the players like him alot, plus with all of the years in the NHL he knows what he's talking about.

O.J. puts a team together every year with whatever he has to work with. You put him at the helm of some of the other programs in the section and look out!

best coach

Isn't this a head coaches poll? The Bergland must be Scott even though the fans and players in Thief River probably wish it was Tim.

The Bergland on the list is Scott. Whether Tim is better or would be better is up for debate but as of now, Scott is the head coach.
I went with OJ on this one. Like the mullet said, he puts a team together every year and seems to get his guys to manage an upset every year. This year so far has the upset has been a tie but I would guess that will be a point of interest at the seeding meeting.
