easy there fella
not all of us are "cocky"
i like to consider myself cautiously optimistic :)

but last night was big for the Hawks and my guess is some of the youngsters are still pretty excited

Saturday should be another great HHS vs HHS game as they have all been the last few years
I really expect it to be a one goal game (2 if EN)

My preseason pick for 7A was Hibbing and that was hard to do. My reason was all the seniors HTown lost. I did not think they would have the depth but the players that have moved up from JV and a few from Bantams have played very well and contributed. They can (and do) roll 3 lines all game.

I will not be surprised to see these 2 playing again in Feb to go to the "EX"

That's not what I was getting at, shooter. The stars were there - Hermantown piled on 40-some shots on net that night in Virginia. My point was really this - and I was at both the Virginia-Hermantown and the Virginia-Hibbing games (and I will be at this one, too) - I honestly beleive that if Virginia had the same goaltending against Hibbing that they did against Hermantown, Virginia would have beaten Hibbing 5-3. The actual play on the ice was very even in both of those games and I expect this one to be no different. Neither one of these teams have the goaltending issues that Virginia has.

I hate to sound even more cocky... but when you are ranked number 1 in the state you kinda have a right to be. When hibbing upset us in the section finals three years ago thats exactly how they were then and the following years. What makes me mad is when players and teams are cocky but can't back it up. H-town can

sorry to hawkfan and those hermantown ppl that were on here at the beginning of the season. i'm pointing out the people that have joined in the last few days and boast about hermantown when im guessing they may have not seen hibbing play and judge them on their three losses. and fan 53, even if the team i was a fan of was ranked number one in the state, i wouldn't be too cocky going up against the number 4 team in the state.

Actually nikebauer.... i wasn't reffering to us being cocky against hibbing. They have a damn good team who we aren't going to take lightly. Its just kind of a natural mentality when you are ranked extrememly high you get a little cocky..... why don't you go ask some of the volleyball players from hibbing? They can be perty arogant

since when did this become the volleyball board?? and i said hopefully they will take em to school, not that they will because i have actually seen both of these teams play before i run my mouth. it should be a very evenly matched game, both teams have excellent first lines and it will be fun to see decenzo and leblanc going against one each other.

On this HUGE 7A match-up, I'm liking...

Hibbing-Chisholm - 1
Hermantown - 3

Should be a good close game, hopefully the Hawks don't run into the usual "Range Officials!" This also should be a preview of the Section 7A Championship Game.

This is going to be one of the best if not the best game in section 7A. I haven't seen Hibbing play at all this year so i don't know how good they are, but from what i hear they have a strong first line, two other good lines and some D. If what i heard about Hibbing's defense being a let down i think the Hawks first line will eat them up (eat them up as in controling the play) this will be a close one just like every year. I'm picking Hibbing in this one, 2-1 ot

I heard there's a new place that just opened up this week. I think its called the Brickyard. Supposed to be really nice - loaded with TV's - with a full menu and bar. I guess they put a few hundred thousand into remodelling the place. I'm thinking of stopping in myself to check it out. Although the curling club is a convenient place to grab a quick cocktail since its right next to the Memorial Bldg. :D
