I think this was a great game from both sides. Very even game until later in the 3rd when it looked like CEC was tired. At one point it looked like east was on the PP but that wasn't the case, CEC just couldn't clear their zone or get a whistle. I think they did a good job to hanging in their for the tie. For those saying east should have won when the puck was knocked in after the whistle? How about when #14 for CEC was on his breakaway early in the game and went 5 hole. Did you see the reaction of the goalie here? He turned sideways, grabbed the post and pulled himself out of the net. Who knows, maybe that was across the line. Even if they had counted both those goals, guess what !! STILL A TIE GAME

Great game period. Wow, FSN announcers seemed alittle shocked that
the northern boys can play hockey.....never had a better game. couldn't believe that the peewees knew the names of the varsity players!! said
that isn't true in the cities (that's because kids don't grow up and play
together all the way, they just move to a private school....)
Congrats to both teams, they looked play off ready even without Tyler.

I couldn't agree more. It was a very good game, although I wonder what would have happened if the refs wouldn't have blown the whistle and East would have got that goal where Ellingson thought he had the puck covered but really didn't. My hats go off to both goalies. I really enjoyed watching the game and I need to get to a game that has a big rivalry like East and Cloquet.forecheck wrote:Great game period. How many people do you think watched that game on FSN last night? I usually don't watch too many of those games but I planned everything around it last night. I am glad it wasn't a disappointment. What a way to get a person ready for the playoffs. I can't wait until the end of February and the beginning of March.
yes i no that. he jsut had a great game keeping them in it when duluth east had it down there and had many chances to score in otboblee wrote:That's nothing new for Reid. I agree, Reid is the best in the state; however luck was on his side justdangla wrote:yes i no that. he jsut had a great game keeping them in it when duluth east had it down there and had many chances to score in otboblee wrote:That's nothing new for Reid. abit. I just watched the tape again, and gee that puck just trickled wide
by inches, and no. 15 on east had quite a few chances to bury it in
3rd perior and ot. east really poured it on, great forechecking especially
by their first line

i don't think cloquet won, because "reid got lucky" i think that's an excuse as well as "we didn't have tyler" if your going to say reid just got lucky why not say if tyler was able to play we would have won... i think reid played an awesome game.. he has talent, who cares if he got lucky on a couple shots.. Because, im pretty sure then Leis wasn't all talent either he would have had to be lucky to i think i saw better saves from Reid in that game.. just my opinion. I think both goalies played very well and both are VERY talented and i can't wait to see, how the playoffs go.
