Blaine vs. Maple Grove

Post by BIGSEXY »

Maple Grove should have a lot of confidence after their win over Centennial on Thursday. Can they get another big one and take down Blaine?

You make a good point, but Blaine still takes it, 3-1.

Lets not forget that this is the Centennial team that thankfully slipped by Coon Rapids 6-5 with a power play goal with 28 seconds left in the 3rd to pull out the victory. So not saying that Maple Grove is not a bad team or one that can be pushed over but this should be a battle and a good game. I am gonna go with Blaine in a one or two goal victory depending on how they come out in the first period.

And it wasn't just the CR game as I have previously stated in a different thread, they have had many close calls all year long against terrible teams. MG snuck by Osseo on Sat. 3-2. They are not suddenly a powerhouse.

Maple Grove 3
Blaine 2

Maple Grove's goalie is very good. If Maple Groves defense shuts down Blaines high powered offense I believe the leafs will come out on top.

They couldn't shut them down last time, not sure why this time will be any different.

"Maple Grove's goalie is very good."

Gaetz has a 2.667 GAA. Last game vs. the Bengals he gave up 3 goals on 10 shots and was pulled midway through the second.

When he is on, he is on. You must of caught him on a bad game. Ask Centenial about him and they will tell you.

Because 7 goals against in 2 games in something spectacular. I'm sure Centennial is real scared of him. Blaine took it to them the first time and they will do it again, too much offense for MG to keep up with. When the Bengals come out full throttle (doesn't happen all that often) the Crimson can't skate with them, bottom line. Blaine knows these last conference games are all big so they will come out fast.

Bengals 6 :D

Crimson 0

Blaine dominated, that's pretty much it. Also, the Bengals have finally found their goalie in the sophomore Hollerud, hopefully Aus can get enough out of his 2 cent brain to keep going with him.

Um well sorry to burst your bubble but 6-0 is the final. Not sure what all the hype about MG is, they only had one scoring chance and the goalie is average at best. And don't even give me that "well they beat Centennial" crap. Gimme a break

Hmmm... So BIGSEXY, it seems to me you are saying that since Holerud only faced one scoring chance from Maple Grove, he has to be the go to guy from here on out!? If Schwartz had played, the score might have been 6 - 1?
I agree with you in that I think Aus or Guider needs to decide on who the top goalie will be come playoff time. Rotating three goalies does not allow any of them to get into much of a game rhythm.

Yea, they are at least down to 2 but you are exactly right.
