The first meeting was very frustrating for Roseville, Cretin played very well in their own end and buried their chances. I think Roseville will have some success scoring this time around, they're too good a team to keep out of the net twice in a season but the conundrum for Roseville will be keeping Cretin from matching them. I'd like to see Roseville pull it out, but I have this feeling that we're in for a 3-3 tie game.

This one is going to be a totally different game. Roseville takes care of buisness at home 4-1.

It was a great game. Roseville came out slow (as usual) and Cretin took a 2-0 lead into the first intermission. Roseville scored powerplay goal in the second and then scored the tying goal with about 6 minutes to go in the game.

Both teams had chances to win in regulation as well as overtime. I believe Roseville had the edge in shots at the end of regulation 34-26 but I didn't hear the final tally. The conference is still up for grabs!

Roseville's top line seemed to control play much of the time they were out there. Hickey was good but I thought Ryan McDounagh (sp?) was ineffective.

Could've just left it at 'beat a private school'. But it seems you are from Hastings and can't handle that your coach apparently sucks...

I don't know about all private schools, but many CDH students are on financial aid or on work study programs to attend the schools. I am guessing this is true of others. Cakeeaters is a stupid description when you look at students from many of the public schools in minnesota.

I thought Roseville came out with a head of steam and then lost it when Cretin got the first goal. After Cretin's Al Davis scored the second goal on a shot from the left circle I was worried we might be in for a rerun of the previous game (4-0 CDH) but Roseville started putting some real pressure midway into the 2nd and generated a penalty. Dorr got the power play goal on a nifty breakaway when he got past the defense after a neutral zone turnover. Roseville came out hard in the third but couldn't get anything past Hause until Koehler carried the puck into the zone, dished it off to Wieck, I think, who fired a nice centering pass back to Koehler crashing the net and somehow the puck got past Hause. There were some great chances at the end of the game and into OT, Roseville's goalie came up with a big save on a CDH breakaway.

I think pokechecker got the shots right for regulation, the PA was a bit garbled from where I sat and both teams did have a lot of good scoring chances thwarted by some excellent goaltending, particularly from CDH's Hause.

One thing I liked about the game was that all the top players seemed to play up to their level, Dorr was all over the ice and it looked like they doubleshifted him and some of the other first liners while Hickey regularly caused conundrums for Roseville's D. McDonagh played just fine from what I saw, I couldn't count how many times he'd fake a slap shot from the point, get the Roseville player on the ice and then pull up and go around him for a better shot. And it wasn't just the top players, Cretin's Al Davis, on their second line, had a good game with a score and an assist and Roseville's no.7 made some great moves to get around two defenseman for a good scoring chance late in the game.

Unlike the first game there weren't many penalties, the first came in the 2nd period and I think there may have only been two or three total. It was nice to see the refs let 'em play and it really was a pretty clean game until the end and OT. And that's where the problems started, the refs let some things go on both sides at the end of the game that could have been called.

A fun game to watch, good to see packerboy even if it was only for a short while.
