Why at the Coliseum this year? That's pretty cool. As far as I remember the finals were played at the same place as the semi's in the past.
Is there anyone to oversee the votes? Say everyone wanted to spice things up and gave SPA a #1 vote, is there anyone to come in and not allow that?
It seems, unlike myself, goalieguy does not agree to disagree and thinks that what he says is final and isn't very good at using commas.

As we explained to you on a previous thread about seedings, each coach is given a copy of the other coaches' votes after the meeting, so that everyone knows how everyone voted. That kind of peer review keeps everybody honest.HShockeywatcher wrote:Is there anyone to oversee the votes? I know it was over a week ago that the discussion was held, and that's a long time for you to remember anything. To quote James Earl Jones in "Field of Dreams," "Learning disability here?"

This is coming from a guy who posted this sentence:HShockeywatcher wrote:It seems, unlike myself, goalieguy does not agree to disagree and thinks that what he says is final and isn't very good at using commas.
"This is be a battle between Guggs and Crandall."
If you find a misuse of a comma on my part, I would appreciate having it pointed out.

For one, I'm pretty sure it wasn't this thread that said the votes were sent out. Even if it was, why doesn't having your votes sent out keep you honest? It's supposed to and probably does for the most part, but it doesn't mean it always will. You could've just said no instead of being rude.
We've been over this before, I screwed up on one word. Big deal. The only reason I pointed out what you typed was because you were putting me down in the same post. Not sure why everyone on here finds it necessary to try to find ways to be a jerk.

Probably many more. Oh well.

If any school ever gave this guy a diploma, I'm sure they're embarrassed about it.

Now you're in waaaaayyy over your head, kid. You're trying to lecture me on punctuation without knowing the proper use of a semicolon. I don't care if anyone does, but if you're going to appoint yourself the spelling, punctuation and grammar arbiter on this board, you should try to have a clue as to what you're talking about. Get back in the shallow end of the pool and do a little "Dick and Jane" reading.HShockeywatcher wrote:goalieguy1 wrote:

Of course, not having a clue about hockey doesn't stop you from spouting off, either.

1. St. Thomas
2. Lourdes
3. Red Wing
4. Richfield
5-11. the field
I want to see a Red Wing vs St. Thomas final. Red Wing has lots of great fans and its always fun to watch these two teams play. The Coliseum would be packed for an STA vs RW game. I can't see any other matchup drawing nearly as much excitement or people.

Yeah. Pretty much nobody goes to the games anymore.. anyone who got escorted out at the beginning of the season only got one more warning, and that was all. So most of them said screw it. = More attendance at boys basketball. They can do pretty much whatever they feel like there.
But, a section final would bring people back for sure.

Did you ever think it was because you irritate soooooo many people.
Don't forget to get the last word mouthrunner, you always do.

Yes, STA only beat redwing 2-1 and it was just the second game of the season. Two weeks into prcatice and 4 of STA players were only 3 days on the ice one the opener in Narshall after thier state championship football game. One being Anders Lee who is now the team leader in goals. Also until just the lat 4 games have they had set lines. The first 17 games they never once had the same 3 lines any game.
I think this weeks games against Richfield and Hill will tell if they are ready to make the run

You can if it was as bad as that one..
STA will obviously be the #1 seed, beating the other 'top 3' this season.
Lourdes and Red Wing tied, so it will be close there. The edge could go to Lourdes because they beat Breck, and RW lost. (although these were towards the beginning of the season and you can argue what you will..it did happen.) But then again, RW's schedule looks a little tougher.
Richfield will not get higher then #4, and you can pretty much base that on the Lourdes game alone. Besides that..with the exceptions of STA, Lourdes and HM, their schedule was quite soft.
If Red Wing and Richfield played, I dont think Richfield could have pulled it off. Goalies dont score goals.

Yeah, I'd honestly be interested in hearing from someone who thinks Lourdes will be the one to beat St Thomas. They are 0-5 in the last three seasons including this one, meeting in sections and playing regular season games.
04-05: don't have the score
05 sec: 2-1 St Thomas in OT
05-06: 5-1 St Thomas home
06 sec: 5-2 St Thomas
06-07: 5-1 St Thomas away
The section final game in 2005 St Thomas scored early then it was pretty much like watching the Hill Murray play St Thomas (except opposite) in how St Thomas dominated minus scoring goals. Lourdes put one in with a couple minutes left then St Thomas won in OT.
From these games St Thomas has outscored Lourdes 17-5 and I don't know the missing score. I really think for whatever reason they St Thomas just matches up well with Lourdes.
Red Wing is the team St Thomas has always had trouble with. Against Red Wing:
04 sec: 4-3 Red Wing
05 sec: didn't meet; Red Wing lost to Lourdes
05-06: tie at Red Wing
sec 06: 4-2 St Thomas
06-07: 2-1 St Thomas home
So, all in all, if you think about it, based on home teams have matched up, the best chance of St Thomas not going to STAte would be for the seedings to be as follows:
1. St Thomas
2. Lourdes
3. Richfield
4. Red Wing
Just my two cents.
