Bantam B White goalie...

Post by gophs21 »

My son is playing in the Rochester tournament and I saw the Rochester goalie against Roseville and Wayzata. In the two game he faced 98 shots in the two games I heard and only allowed 3 goals. Does any one else know how he has performed during the season? Thats pretty impressive .969 save percentage with that many saves in two games.

Yeah the team is in rough shape from what it looked like. They ended up losing 7,8,9-0 against Woodbury haha sorry but can't remember the exact final in that one. The other goalie was in.

His name is Tyler Wright, he is average in my opinion. Although I also saw him this weekend, and he played very well and I give credit to him. He was placed on the B3 team in Rochester, so form your own opinions about what that means. Also, he is using excessively large pads for his size, but then again, that is becoming the trend unforunately.

Bantam B White Goalie

Having watched Tyler play all year as my son plays on this team, he should be proud of his continued stellar play. I don't agree with the "B3" comment as Rochester has 4 Bantam traveling teams which rates Tyler in the top 8 goalies in the city. With 4 high school hockey programs in town, and with Tyler being a first year Bantam, I think he is showing himself well....regardless of pad size.

Bantam B White Goalie

I would agree with Douzzz. I saw Tyler play this weekend also and he played extremely well. I saw him play against Roseville. I did not see the Wayzata game. The Bantam B White team was put in a difficult position this weekend considering they were in the same pool as Roseville, Woodbury, and Wayzata. I would say this was a very successful tournament for the Bantam B White team. To come away with a 2-2 tie vs Roseville and only lose 1-0 to Wayzata is quite an accomplishment.

I would disagree with HShockey2180 in that the Bantam B White team would be considered a B2 team. The other two B teams are considered B1 teams. With Bantam B Black being mostly 2nd year Bantams and Bantam B Red being all 1st year Bantams. All three teams are playing a District 8 schedule. These two teams are pretty even based just based on the scores of the last two games Black and Red have played. I would say Black plays a much more aggressive game, which at times gets them into trouble, where as Red is a more disciplined team.
