Well I think if tonight's game is any indication of District 6 hockey, then we are in for a great playoff round
EP Black 4
Minnetonka 3 OT
winning goal scored with 29 seconds remaining in first OT. When #17 picked up the puck in the neutral zone he was Elwood of the Blues Brother because he was on a mission from God when he rushed in for the winning shot/goal.
EP scored #1 in the first 39 seconds of the game. went up 2-0, Tonka closed to 2-1 then dropped another one down to make it 3-1. Tonka then score the next two to tie. They had a late one waved off because it was knocked in with a high stick (good call).
Refereeing was a tad one sided against Tonka. Checking from behind call on Tonka was no worse then the non-call at center ice against one of the Tonka players. I am now more confused then ever before what interference is this year.
I would have liked it to have gone another 3-4 Overtimes.

D6 Playoffs
Freddy:
Why don't you post something postive at this time of the year. Your tick.tick.tick messages are annoying and show no class on your part.
tomAss:
Thanks for the unbiased report of the EP Black vs. Tonka game. It was a great playoff game between 2 great BB1 hockey teams.
EagleGuy:
We predicted a 1 goal game and that's how it ended up. Good luck to your squad the rest of the way.
To the Tonka players and coaches, it was an exciting year full of tense games. Jordan, great job in the nets this year. You had some big wins over Duluth East, Edina Green and Burnsville.
To the rest of the D6 bloggers who regularly contribute to this board, good luck the rest of the season. Don't take anything for granted and play hard when you hit the ice.
I look forward to next season. If anyone is looking for some scouting reports, give me a call I would be glad to help out now that my son has moved on to the hs stage (hopefully) of his career.
This is a great level of hockey and I enjoyed meeting all of the players, coaches and parents from White Bear, Duluth, Grand Rapids and everywhere else we played.
blueblood is signing off.

Just telling it the way it is and being arrogant about it are two different things.
Don't hold the bomb too long, your Edina boys may get caught in the shrapnel this week.
Good luck Jefferson, Burnsville, Chaska and EP Black. I hope to see your teams playing in Plymouth next month so the rest of us don't have to put up with mr tick tock.

maybe 1 goal overtime wins in D6 now need to be considered domination of a game ?lessercountryfolk wrote:definately not...and blueblood shouldnt be worried about other posts, its your choice to read it. If you dont like it get off.
otherwise, i heard EP Black dominated Minnetonka, if so i believe Chaska has a hell of a game tonight to win.

Did Ep carry the game at times? Yes. Did EP outshoot them? I think so, but it was the type of game that Tonka never gave up, kept fighting through obstacles, and made more out of less.
That being said Chaska will need a hell of a game to get out of the wildcard round today against EP black. They seem to have some good hockey IQ and they seem to play very well as a united team.
Good luck today Chaska I hope everyone has their A+ game today, and then tomorrow, and then the next day and the next day

I was not trying to be arrogant. Just trying to motivate by making a point that if teams don't bring the A game and leave everything on the ice, the season could be over. For instance, I have watched Black and Chaska play a few times this year. By the sound of it, Chaska has two personnalities. I would like to see the Black play the way they did in Bloomington, and I would like Chaska to play like they did against Red. Once again, I ment to show no disrespect for Tonka or Blueblood. Today's game should be a barn burner it both teams show. Good luck and play hard.
It's always tough interpreting written messages sometimes. I interpreted the ticking to be you waiting for someone to post the result, but I can be a simpleton. . I understand exactly how blueblood felt because you hate to see the season end so suddenly especially after they made a nice comeback. I'm trying to lower my expectations today in case that happens to Chaska.FREDFLINTSTONE wrote:I was not trying to be arrogant. It will be interesting to see what team does show up today based on a few things that maybe I can explain later. I don't want to give EP Black anything he can use for the game.

Dist 10
I see the other scores are posted. ER 4-3 over Champlin Park
Yep a well fought and earned victory by the EP black team! Well done boys, good luck tomorrow and take it to Edina White, but this time let's keep it to regulation. Your parents can't handle too much more of this!Eagles05 wrote:EP black 3 Chaska 2 in double overtime
First period Chaska 1-0 : first 10 minutes Chaska came out on fire and EP with their goaltending weathered the storm. Chaska scored on a nice tip-in play. EP found their legs late in the period
Second period: EP came out flying and controlled much of the action. They tied the game and really could have had a few more but didn't convert. Chaska got a second goal on a nice pass play to end up with a fortunate 2-1 period lead.
Third period: EP scores early on on a nice deflected power play goal. Nice chances for each that didn't go in to finish the 3rd.
OT 1 : EP goalie came up with two exceptionally nice saves but no scoring.
OT 2: didn't take long, off the opening face-off down the ice, nice shot BOOM Goes the dynamite!

So good luck and represent the D6 wild-card side proudly- You earned the right to do so.

Thanks Tom for the support. It's a kind of bittersweet pill after a season of good-natured banter and sportsmanship to knock out blueblood and then TomASS on back to back nights. I am glad that both contests were worthy of extra time and hard fought by all three teams. Just the kind of D6 playoff hockey we all expected.
I'm sure the next couple of days will be much more of the same from all the teams.
