Movies

Post by goldy313 »

If anyone wants to see a really good movie go see "Letters From Iwo Jima" It's nearly all subtitled so be ready. I usually find the films up for best picture a bit odd and not my kind of film, but this was really good. Clint Eastwood really did a great job on this, it was worth the 8 bucks and 2.5 hours.

I use Blockbuster.com. Since they introduced the bit where you can exchange your mailed movies at a store, I haven't used it, but the coupons for free game rentals in store are nice. I always like trying a game out before I drop $50 (unless it's Tiger or Madden - that's a no brainer).

I used Netflix when I lived in Anchorage but got annoyed that it would take 5-10 days for turnaround. I am thinking about trying it again. In store rentals are too expensive. $3-4 rentals is ridiculous. I think what Blockbuster is doing is great.

Yeah, 5-10 days sounds rough. My turnaround for Blockbuster is the same as it was when I was with Netflix. I send one back - it gets to them the next day - and I have my new movie the day after that. It's always 2 days (unless Sunday is involved).

Many public libraries carry even the newest releases ... I can get them for free for 7 days or they carry the new releases on a different shelf for 50 cents per day.

What a steal eh?
That is all,
