Jacks get the winner on a power-play as the Elks are serving a bench minor due to Sarsland punching the Jacks' mascot.

Not really. If Elky wins I'm sure they'll stay and support us, and I know there's some Jacks fans that would stay and root against East. And if the Jacks win, same thing.

I don't think the Elks have faired very well at the DECC in years. I agree, get the cities team out of the northern section. When these teams play each other anywhere other than in Elk River, it's home field advantage for any of the other 7AA teams.

When is this game, Saturday? And what time?

Yes The Elks will have to wait until 12 Noon. Also the Elks fans better come in Bunches because Cloquet is going to bring a ton of people.

Game Times

Post by northwoods oldtimer »

Remeber boys the game times have been adjusted to 12:00 and 2:00 PM not 11:00 and 1:00. That's enough time for an additional 3 rounds over at the Grandma's Saloon for all you thirsty hockey fans! Can't make it on account of work!! :x :x :x
Updates from some fine posters would be appreciated.

What was wrong with ER being in section 4AA where almost all of the other NWSC teams are. They probably got sick of us going to state almost every year.

Elk River gets put in a new section almost every year they realign sections (which is every 2 years) because other teams hate losing.

Two section finals, one section win, two semifinal appearances in the four years they've been in 7AA. I'd say that's not too shabby. Whether that would qualify as powerhouse is another question.

Although I don't see it appropriate, I wouldn't mind seeing them move to 8AA for 2 more years, just to see a couple more of those Moorhead/Elk River section final games...

Let's see how many of the current 7AA teams would be "powerhouses" if the semi's and final's were played in ER.
