I really like how SCC matches up with Marshall. SR was just way too slow defensively to shut down Marshall and throw on top of it Lochner didn't play his best. SCC has much more team speed than SR.

SCC is playing its best hockey right now. I can't really judge DMs performance yesterday as Sauk just didn't go out the way they wanted to, but it looks as if they are playing some of their best hockey of the year.

Either way, this game will be a great one. Hopefully the roads aren't too bad as they are expecting more snow later this week. See you all at the game.

DM - 4 (EN)

SCC - 2

I couldn't decide who was gonna end up on top of this one, so I picked the one that was more northern in the state. This is going to be a great game.

Anyone whos seen marshall play this year @ scc knew that they werent on there game.. Not at all, scc was good and quick but to me its not that scc was bad or anything , marshall didnt come to play it looked like..I think if both teams are healthy and come to play its gonna be marshall by 2..given that behning is hot.. That s a big thing, hes too hot and cold

The hit the Gutsch took looked pretty brutal. His shoulder got crushed in to the boards and instantly I could tell something was wrong. It takes a lot for that kid to show pain.

What happened to the other kid that went down in front of the net? He looked like he was in some pain.

Gutsch hurt his shoulder but knowing him he's gonna do anything to get back as soon as possible... Zach Mausolf on te other hand, had a slight knee injury on his MCL a few weeks ago... i haven't heard exactly what happened yesterday but i'm assuming it was his knee again, and by the way he came of the ice t's tough to say if he'll be back... but the beauty of our team is that we have depth and can most likely recover from this with ease. as fo SCC... i agree that we didn't play well against them before and as long as these injuries dont get to us we can stay strong like we usually do in playoffs.. i say marsall 5 scc 2

How much ice time does Hurley see for DM? He played a little against SR but I couldn't tell if that was because of the score and injuries or if he was a top three line player. He moves pretty good for his size.

Agreed completely. This is going to be a good match-up because both teams are going to have almost everyone back from injury. But you have to give DM the edge anytime they show up to play -- which is basically every game except against SCC earlier this year. Look for the revenge factor to be strong in this one.

I think revenge will not be a factor at all in this game. This is a sectional final afterall, and every player on both teams will be exactly on the same page because of what is at stake in this game. Yes, SCC defeated DM earlier in the year, but it was a clean game by both teams and it didn't hurt DM in terms of section seeding. DM doesn't have to prove anything more just because of that game. Rather, they should want to win to get to St. Paul next week. However, that is also the same goal that SCC will have going into the game. Since last summer, SCC has had the attitude that it is on a mission this year, which is something you don't see with many teams, and they are very focused and playing extremely well right now. If DM wins, it won't be because of any revenge factor.

I will say that penalties could be the deciding factor of this game. If both teams stay on the ice, 5-5, I think that SCC will win by 2. If either team starts to take dumb penalties, then that team will lose the game.

Flahrety is a seasoned coach who has been here before, and I would say that he will have his team ready.

Johnson is a young coach that is seeing his hard work, and the boys' as well, paying off. He is excited as are the players. If he can keep his focus and keep the players in focus, they have a very good chance of winning this game. However, if the SCC boys start getting their "I" game working, DM will pull this off.

I say the SCC will win the game by 2. No score predictions though.

Cathedral won the first time they played. I'm pretty sure people on here were saying they had players injured that game (could be wrong). Either way a private school wins, so I'll be happy.

Well ive seen both teams play and they are both very solid teams, but i think Duluth Marshall will be to tough and take this one.

If SCC plays like they did verse DD - there is no doubt in my mind they will beat Marshall.

They have to play physical but not take penalties (if that's possible) - I think DM has a hard time with SCC's physical play.

From what i heard today Gutsch will be back but Mausolf won't, but it's still 3 days away so we'll see what happens with them.

I hope Gutsch is ready to strap on the leather because he's going to be in for a very physical game.

Injury or not i guarantee that if Gutsch plays he'll be laying some kids out, haven't been to a Marshall game this year where he hasen't.
