Everyone would call it an upset but people who know the history of the two teams over the last few years wouldn't be as surprised as the rest of the state would. Although the rest of the state would be celebrating alot.

I posted this on the weather thread, but I'll put it here as well....just one man's opinion

Getting road reports from Red Wing to St. Paul, and I don't think there's any way 3A should play tonight, but it sounds like they will. Roads are fair to poor, and they're only going to get worse between now and the afternoon.

It's going to cost the section a lot of money, because the gate will be way down. I'm sure player parents will still make the trip, but there are going to be a couple hundred students and lots of other Red Wing fans that won't risk the drive. Move it to Saturday and the section could recoup a couple thousand dollars in gate receipts, plus keep everyone safe.

Saint Thomas will crush the Dead Wings

Post by hockey nut »

I will hand out $100.00 Dollar bills tonight outside the Saint Thomas locker room if Red Wing wins. They do not have a chance. I will hand out $50.00 bills if the Wingers get 15 shots the whole game. The waY STA is playing in there own end right now, and as good as Crandell has been the last 12 games Red wing will get beat 5-0 and have 12 shots all night. Can you say BIGGER, FASTER, STRONGER. Season is over Wingers another great run with no results.

Safety's great, and I'm not going to argue that. But at the same time, they should be thinking of this as a big game. If they know about weather problems, get a hotel the night before the game. Responsibility goes both ways. You won't see them canceling state because of snow.

The other part; I hate how the hockey is all about money now.

Dude, the game's canceled. If you say you're not going to do something until something happens and it's put off, it's void. But hey, way to add to your posts that have nothing to do with hockey.

I guess on the bright side no one has a reason not to be at this game. I know lots of students have things due on Fridays so Thursday games people don't go to sometimes.

And out-of-towners, like me, might be able to make it now. Anyone injured on either team that the extra couple days will help?

Yeah... lucky you, now I can't make it. I originally had saturday off and was supposed to work tonight. But I switched shifts with the ONLY other person who works the afternoon shift, so I had tonight off and work for her saturday. Ugh.

So I'll be listening to the game on the radio because I work at 2:30.

Newman has mono, as far as I know he won't be playing Saturday. Talk about an absolutely terrible time to get sick.

I feel for ya as I probably won't be going. Too bad. That's another reason it's dumb they rescheduled it.

Yeah I know he does.. I just thought "illness" was a little more respectful.

Though... because it could potentially be his last game of high school hockey (and as long as he is physically able to play), Nem might let him play.. or atleast let him suit up.

That would be cool if he could at least suit up, because that would be a horrible way to to go out, with an illness that isn't even his fault. Hopefully he feels a bit better and can give it a shot.

Yeah thats for sure. Obviously, he's hopeful for Saturday. If not then, hopefully state if they make it. Also heard he's been playing sick the whole season.. pretty good numbers in that respect.

Good recovery shooter. Seems like your boys have given up on the Wingers. All this talk about their last game and all... 8)

If it were someone on my team I'd say that it's all right because he'll be better for next week or something like that, not maybe they should let him suit up because they may be done next week. Just me though.

Mono is not the type of illness you can recover from after a week of rest. You are usually out for a month.

Usually a month is generous too. If he's sick why would he suit up?

Because like I said, it could be his last game of high school hockey, and it'd be a shame if he sat on the bench in a dress shirt and tie.

That's just you, huh?

Two possible outcomes of this game: RW wins or RW loses.

So I am saying it's a possibility that RW loses and goes home for the season.

Just because I'm realistic doesn't mean I'm giving up on the Wingers' potential.

That's just me, though.

It'd be classy if he sat on the bench in a shirt and tie. But I can't win this one, nor am I trying to. How long's he been sick? Anyone else sick/injured?

Look at the poll. 19 for STA and 19 for RW. Looks like every Class A team not named STA is rooting for RW. :D
