I think Little Falls will carry most of the play... but the score will be closer than what many think, Fergus will make a game of it. Prediction....LF 5, FF 3 (en)

Little Falls is a very fast team who can take advantage of and draw penalties from the other team. Their opponents find themselves hooking and grabbing all the way to the box. This allows more time for Festler and company to be on the ice, which obviously is not what their opponents need. LF top line is not only talented, but they are conditioned and can handle a lot of ice time.

Fergus will not leave the Mac with a win, however I think they will score more on LF than some teams recently because Fergus is capable of finishing. But, Little Falls wins 9-4.

Saying the Otters have no scorers is ridiculous. Cody Peck and Cody Koski are VERY capable of putting the puck in the net. Are they as good as Festler or Hanowski? Absolutely not, but they are very good hockey players.

FF has to "contain" that top line to a maximum of 2 goals, if they can do that then I think they'll win this one. Otherwise...see my previous post.

This game will not be close because Fergus Falls is a very average team, certainly not even close to the caliber of team that you would expect to see in a section final, but this is what this section gives us. If this game is close, which it won't be, then LF is in trouble at the state level as its D and goaltending won't be able to withstand any semblance of a potent offense by a top seed opponet.

Koski and Peck are dangerous ... to any team ... just ask Brainerd.

Festler scored 4 goals against Brainerd.
Koski scored 4 goals against Brainerd.
Peck scored 2 goals against Brainerd.

Do the math.

FF 2
LF 0

(net score)

But, on the other hand.

LF 8
FF 1

(without Koski)

then again ... on another hand ...

LF 0
FF 0

(with storm approaching)

Is the game on tonight?

I disagree Bluegoose. FF vs. LF is a rivalry game, plus, its the third time these teams have met. It could very well be a close game for these reasons. I don't think it will have a bearing on how well LF does in state, if they make it.

Were you at the second LF - FF game GPP? It was a very close game until middle of the third period. I would think that after two games, FF's coach should be able to make an adjustment to keep this game close. But then again, maybe LF's talent and depth is too great. I sure hope so, but it scares me how everyone is picking LF.

... And maybe you would like to enlighten me on who those five guys were Bauer?

My records show that everyone played that game ... including the one guy you were thinking of ... Jared Hoppe.

You don't know Jack ...

did Jack play?

If this one gets tight, Cooch needs to "let the dogs hunt". With that power line of his, I would let them go on a scoring frenzy, ala the Edmonton Oilers of the late 80's. Fergus is not skilled enough to keep up and would love to keep this one a defensive struggle. Go Flyers, bring home another 4A banner to LF.

acutally I think festler ONLY has two so far...Jorgenson with two I believe and big little hanowski with at least one...don't know about the other three but I know the scoring is spread out throughout the team! Good things happening at the right time of the season. I'll get more details and a final later if no one else has.
