Gophers win the MacNaughton

Post by schwang17 »

Congrats to the Gophs on winning the MacNaughton Cup for the 12th time in school history. Should be interesting to see how far the Youth can carry them in the NCAA's. As I'm posting this, Mich. Tech just scored again and is up 3-1. Looks like the Gophs are hungover from last night. Hopefully they can turn the recent sluggish play around come Tournament time.

5-3 Michigan Tech after 2

It was 5-1 late in the period. Typical gophers. They have been so inconsistent the last couple of years. But they have enough talent to survive.

Michigan Tech takes it 5-4. Never seen so many blocked shots than how many they blocked tonight. Good defense guys.

If the Gophers keep up this pace of showing up to play one night, not the next, they will take an early exit this year in both the WCHA and the NCAA tourneys. I think they will.

Frazzee is going to have to play better in order for the gophs to go somewhere

I think your wrong the gophers usually show up both nights, give them a break they are one of the best teams in the NCAA, and they just one the Macnaughton Cup the night before. They're one of the best teams i have ever seen play, and i wouldn't be suprised if they don't end this season with a national championship.

Frazee doesn't have to play any better in the playoffs because I'm assuming he'll be on the bench for ALL playoff games from here on out. I'm sick and tired of hearing how much talent he has. I've seen him for 2 years and have seen an inconsistent, erratic overrated netminder. I know he's had success for the U.S. National team but for some reason his head is in left field when maroon and gold is in front of him. Alex Kangas '07-'09 and Joe Howe '09-.....

I think your right about Frazee not playing in the playoffs because the Gophers have an excellent goalie in Kellen Briggs, but i disagree with you when you said Frazee has been inconsistent and overrated. With numbers like these i would have to say he's a pretty dang good goaltender.

RECORD 12 - 3 - 1 / 1 Shutout / 2.45 GAA / Save % .900

If i were a coach of any hockey team i would be extremely happy with those numbers from my goaltender.

Gophers

Definatly have not been impressed with the gophers lately, they are luckey they had the amazing start they had other wise they could have been ranked 5th in the WCHA. Im looking for St. Cloud to make some noise now. :!:
"Two minutes well worth it."
