* interesting tidbit *

Little Falls was without Ben Hanowski & Lucas Jorgensen.

This game could be a high-scoring affair ... lot's of goals ... but still a one-goal game.
A high scoring affair would be right up the Flyers alley - they do not have the D or goaltending to keep it tight. As detailed earlier, Cooch needs to let his horses run to try and outscore the Hawks.

Who cares what they did in a scrimmage 6 weeks ago.. that isn't the same as the state tournament.. i doubt the intensity of that scrimmage will be the same as the game tomorrow. Hermantown is very capable of giving up a lot of goals but they are really playing good hockey right now and they will be tough to beat. They made Hibbing look like a joke last week.. this game could get very ugly for LF if Hermantown hasn't lost their momentum..
Now Mr. Nikebauer...You would be the first to agree with me that Hibbing played like arse that night against Hermantown thus Hermantown making the Bluejackets look like fools. Hermantown may be playing good hockey right now but LF is peaking at the perfect time and are playing just as well and without a doubt have the talent to pull of what most would say is an upset. Hermantown is due to slip up a game and LF's first line will pick out the weakness in them and pull out a W tommorow night.

Festler line? The heck with the Festler line. Little Falls will have their hands full trying to match up with H-Town's LeBlanc line. Though LF will have their chances and though it may not be possible to shut down the Festler line, Bruce Plante will have his team complelely ready to play against all the LF lines.

I can't see Little Falls winning this game. The Hawks are battle tested against an array of tough, A and AA competition, whereas Little Falls plays in a chump league and was rarely tested all season. They'll be plenty tested against the Hawks.

oh Gutcheck.. I know deep down inside what your true feelings are about this game.. it's okay to let them out to us :wink: this will be a tough test for your Flyers.. Hermantown has the depth to outplay LF's first line and they've got the big guns who can put the puck in the net.. I can't wait to watch this one!

The only thing "flying" after this game will be the Hawks on their way to the perfect season GC..

The hawks are going to get run into by the Flyers propellers on their way away from the state championship Mr. NB.

Hermantown-LF hearkens back to the Duluth East-Hastings quarterfinal battle in 1998. Hastings came in with the incomparable Jeff Taffe and Dan Welch, two magnificent goal scorers. Hastings jumped out to a quick lead, but East eventually wore Hastings down with its depth and balanced scoring for a comfortable win. Same thing will happen with Hermantown sending wave after wave of forecheckers at Little Falls, draining them of resolve. The Flyers will collapse, Hawks march on.

Hermantown has been doing it all year against quality teams. They've also had some spectacular comebacks to win or tie games. They came from behind against Virginia (and the highest scoring line in section 7) near the end of regulation and won in OT. LF didn't have a chance from the first drop of the puck against Virginia.

Hermantown-7
Little Falls-2

Your bragging about a comeback against Virginia.. did you forget they came back to beat Hibbing by tying the game with 4 seconds left? This is a team that doesn't let down and they can put the puck in the net.

Given what we experienced in our state of hockey over the past week - the kiss of death in this game - like most this time of year- is to think all that you have to do is show up - and you will win! It truly is the silly season and not a time for over confidence or complacency.

Now I believe that both of these teams are sufficiently mature to understand such consequences.

I didn't forget anything. I was comparing Hermantown and Little Falls to a common opponent.

I think we can all agree that it will be hard for LF to win this one. Its been almost two months since LF played a good team and I think that will hurt but I really hope the flyers can pull this one off. I just don't want to see an embarassment like their games against DM the past two years.
