They will roll a fourth line if the situation is right. This is a game where Rapids will not falter if they fall behind by one or two goals, but how will Edina respond if they fall behind by 2 goals?
I agree that Rapids is not a one man team, but compared to Edina, there depth doesn't match up. Edina has two first lines and the third line is a very good checking line, that can provide some scoring. Rapids is not that deep. They had a good first line, when I saw them, but they weren't nearly as good as Edina's top two lines. Now with White and Morse back, They probably are like most of the top teams, an amazing first line, a good second line and solid third line. That is not as deep as Edina, which was the comparison that was being made.
Edina will respond well, if they get down two. They are very patient and have the confidence to come back (see my first post). I think Grand Rapids will come out better, they will play the second period evenly and then Edina will take the third period, as they always seem to do. How those periods shake out will decide the game.

Edina doesn't have three solid lines. They have 2 great lines and a thrid checking line. Their third line combined has less goals than 4 players on the team.Whatswiththis wrote:Edina will win. They will wear Grand Rapids down in the 1st period with three solid lines. But i want Grand to win so

The "green line" as giles calls it- yeah it is pretty blue- collar. They at least keep oponents at bay. And they have the Brehm- Gleason defensive pairing behind them which helps a lotscoreboard33 wrote:Edina doesn't have three solid lines. They have 2 great lines and a thrid checking line. GR-Ed1na matchup
This game is reason enough to sneak out of work (in Wisconsin) early and come to the tournament. The seeding definitely got messed up, but so be it. I've been coming to the tournament since the days of Tim Sheehy, Henry Boucha, Bobby Krieger, et al, and a great North-South matchup is always enjoyable, especially when it includes two of the best teams there.
I'm not going to make a prediction. I feel the emergence of Budish and his line is equalized by the return of White. This should be one game that, hopefully, lives up to its advance billing. Bring it on!
By the way as a lifelong Minnesota High School hockey backer who now lives and works in Wisconsin, I have to say that the top teams in the Badger State (e.g. Fond Du Lac, Eau Claire Memorial, Superior) can now hold their own with MN teams. I'm not saying they're AS good, but they're getting closer. I hear there's a possiblity of an EC Memorial-Woodbury game next year. That would be interesting.

He was almost certain that they would beat them? Saying he was almost certain the Hornets could beat them is completely different than saying he was almost certain the Hornets would beat them.woody22 wrote:He was almost certain that they would beat them? Brehm and Gleason almost always play behind Reber-Leer-Ca. Gaarder.
Jorgensen and Wilson almost always play behind Brill-Cowan-Jarrett.
UNLESS, is Giles making the switch for this game only?

If I paint myself bright orange we should probably sit together Reggie. We can sit right next to Edina fans so we can make fun of them.Reggie wrote:i'll be there with a Orange & Black cake for the losers! Indians 3 cake eaters 1

Re: Bring your riot gear
I'll hold you to that. You better be carrying a cake because I will be searching the crowd. I wish I could have Rachel in my kitchen. I know this might sound sad but I was flipping through the channels the other day and I watched her for a little bit. She has such an annoying voice. She said just cook and not talk. By the way, I have a sudden urge to throw a bright orange cake in lets go hornets face for some reason.Reggie wrote:sounds good I got rachel ray in the kitchen right now. man can she make a wicked cake. hers is for us I got my dog in the back yard making one for the hornuttsdherman8 wrote:If I paint myself bright orange we should probably sit together Reggie.
