If the Blaze can take this one that would leave Roseau, Rapids, Century and Burnsville as your final four.

Who could have called that a month ago?

Not I.

its really nice to see kids using speed to beat D on the outside, i am sick and tired of kids trying to "dangle" and getting owned.

Is it just me or is Blaine constantly making it around the Burnsville defense wide and going to the net practically untouched?

At one point this season, Burnsville had an 8 game losing streak. Anybody know if any state champ had a streak that long during their season (excluding Tier II)?

This just further demonstrates what a unique year this is for AA. The front runners are all out (or never even made it) and some also rans are now poised to take home some hardware.

I kind of wondered about that too, but I figured that there have been a bunch of teams that made it with lousy records (I think Lakeville was right around .500 for their appearances a few years back, weren't they?), so some team(s) has probably qualified for the tourney with a long losing streak, but I can't believe any team has actually won it.

The inexperience of Holerud was the factor of this game. Burnsville just a kept on battlin though.

I second that. You're being generous with the term inexperiance. I'm betting it will be an all northern final.

Nice win for Burnsville. Looks like we have a Cinderella! You have to appreciate their work ethic and tenacity.

'86 Richfield had two five game losing streaks and didn't get back to .500 until their victory over Edina in the section semifinals

'97 Henry Sibley lost six in a row and eight of ten to finish the season. Won section 2AA with 11-12-2 record.
