AL's goalie kept them in the game. Warroad was always moving, closed passing lanes, and should have blown them out. With Hahn and Ralvdalhlen (SP?) hustling and Marvin (he is big) standing them up (saw several of those big AL farm boys bounce off him), Warroad should walk away with a win. Doubt they will run out of gas like Little Falls did.

They may have made it to state but after seeing their game against AL, Warroad and their section is having a down year and I am seriously doubting their section is better then LF's section. I am used to seeing Warroad teams that are physical and fast too. I don't see that with this team.
Section8 not as good as Section 4. Do you really believe that? Section 8 has proven to be deeper than Section 4. Besides LF you have nobody that can compete with the perenial powers of 8. Fergus is your 2nd best team which was beaten by our 6th seed Detroit Lakes.

After seeing LF play last night I am convinced that they are a good team. Not good enough to win state but good none-the-less. I would have liked to see a Warroad LF quarterfinal. I think those two would have provided a great game. Even on a down year Section 8 is head and shoulders above section 4 on a great year. DL comes back to your section next year and I guarantee they are a top 3 seed.
I am just saying as a whole all of section 8 and all of section 4 have about the same quality wins. (LF and Warroad are very similar)

Dear Xcel Energy Center.

Please turn the heat up in the building, throw a couple extra hundred gallons of water on during the resurface, and keep the game pucks in warm water.

Thank you for your time and consideration

Syd - you haven't said it better since your days with Floyd. Warroad is a nice team out of average Section 8A, but the Hawks and LeBlanc will prove way too much to handle for them. Hawks 5 Warriors 2 (Warroad gets 2 only because of the big rebounds that Hawk goalie gives up).

Warroad wins this one. Vannie skates on his head. Marvin shows all he has got (senior year). Warroad keeps the tempo of the game on their side. My guess is

Warroad 3

Hermantown 2

Warroad will be behind most of the game... but they should come with an upset... everyone is expecting Warroad to lose, but they will show up Friday Night!

ROSEAU COUNTY SWEEP 8)

Section 8's takin' state and feelin' great

I watched Warroad last night and i hope they didn't play very well because they didn't look that good. I have not seen them play this year and i was not impressed last night but i'm not quick to judge. All i know is that Hermantown will have to come to play every game a long with every other team in state. Every game is tough at state and you have to come to play. I hope it's a good one but i will have to go with

Hey guess what I caught a puck today during the LF/Albert Lea game today. It was the best highlight of the game. It will be on sportscenter tonight.

3 goals? Are you crazy? Leblanc will have another great game just like against LF. Did you guys know the LF team lost to Albert Lea because they didn't get any sleep last night? Leblanc caused too many nightmares for the LF team especially Sperl who didn't look that great today. Leblanc has had a hand in 2 games even though he has only played in one. Thats what I call a stud.

I think Warroad gives them a good game, but in the end, Hermantown is too strong.

Just look to spread out the opponents better and there transitions give them the ice position to not tire as fast.

Did like Warroad’s goalie in the AL game.

Honestly, in my opinion this game will depend on the goal tending. The better tender will carry them into the championship. I would love to see a Roseau county sweep this year, but everything is still up for grabs.

Warroad play this year, they will probably try keep Hermantown away from the net for rebounds. That's just how their physical style is going to change the game. It doesn't matter how fast Hermantown is (what some people have mentioned), if you create a blanket in front of your net, your opponent won't get a lot of chances.

The longer Warroad can keep the game close and keep themselves out of the penalty box, the better chance they'll have. (e.g. Albert Lea game) That game may have looked ugly (from what i've heard) but it's what Warroad has to do in this tourny to bring home the hardware.

I think you have it dead on stealth, this will be a close game. However, look for hermantown to play consistent defensively, especially with goaltending. Hardy is a great goalie, and I hope that he will continoue to be a difference maker and control the tempo of this hockey game. Hawks, can't afford to play the way they did against LF in the first two periods of the last game, or the warriors are easily moving on the the championship game. Bring your A game hawks or suffer the consequences! I wish both teams the best of luck, GO HAWKS!

It should be a really good game. Both teams are going to show up to play. If they don't, they shouldn't be at the show. Warroad's toughnose, hardhitting hockey should pull through, but only after OT. 3-2 Warroad with game winner coming from that Ravendalen kid who has some pretty decent hands.

No it won't be on Sportscenter you are not good enough you probably suck. Oh and I caught a puck in the Rochester Mayo - Albert Lea Game when Mayo came to Albert Lea and I didn't make a big deal out of it. So who cares if you caught a puck or not? The answer is no one cares if you did or not.

Please, no more close ups of Dave Wright in the PA booth.

I think his voice will suffice.
