In A, Little Falls will be back, but they'd better upgrade their schedule, or they will quickly exit again. Hibbing is very young and will be much improved, with only DMarshall and IFalls between them and a state berth. Htown should be the class of Sec. 2A. Prediction for State seeds: STA 1, Hibbing 2, Hermantown 3, Little Falls 4.

In AA, Duluth East will be an absolute force next season if they can find a solid netminder. With their schedule they are a definite title game pick. Roseau kids seem to buy into their system better than any other school, they will be the class of 8AA. Can't discount AHA, and Edina might go the whole year ranked first. Prediction for State seeds: Edina 1, Roseau 2, AHA 3, Duluth East 4.
hermantown will be in 5A
edina and aha are in the same section (2AA) so i don't expect to see thm both at the EX next year

that is a good statement about AA but its impossible for AHA and Edina to get seeds at state because they are in the same section. i got AHA making it out. theyll be very hungry after the past 2 years.

They better get more reliable goaltending and defense then!

If I had to pick,
1) Lakeville N, Dodge Cty or Mayo as a darkhorse
2) Burnsville or Edina, the toughest section in the state
3) Woodbury, may be a worse section than 1AA
4) With Hill, Roseville, WBL it's anyones race
5) Centennial
6) Wayzata, another bad section
7) East
8) Roseau

You just never know with Apple Valley, Cretin, Eagan, Eastview, Rosemount and Woodbury. Could be a competitive section.

The final four in the bantam tourney are as follows.

Centennial
Wayzata
Eden Prairie who beat Roseau 8-2
Duluth East

These youngsters should add to already solid high school teams.

Centennial vs. Eden Prairie for the bantam state title tomorrow. The second year bantams for Centennial are looking for their third straight title. State pee-wee champs two years ago, and state bantam champs last year.

What is this... the GRADE SCHOOL thread?

If carpinguy wanted to take us way-off-topic, why not just talk about carpinguy's days in figure skating?

The title of this thread is Top Teams Next Year.

Wouldn't incoming sophomores be a big part of how good teams may be? If I remember right Edina had a pretty good group of sophomores this year.

I guess one poster on here proves once again that reading comprehension is not his strength. Much like comparing a team to a program.

Hermantown will be ok next year, nothing like they were this year. Hardy was their backbone this year and without him they wouldn't have done what they did. They lose 9 seniors and both goaltenders, they'll need to find a good goalie or else it will be tough for them next year. STA will be really good next year, if everyone stays. They only lose 3 seniors, but alot depends on if some decide to stay or go. Marshall should be ok next year, they will be very good defensively with the addition of Landon Olson from Alexandria

this year six of the eight teams in Class A were their the year before (STA, Duluth Marshall, Little Falls, Blake, Orono, Hermantown) and i didn't see a whole lot of seniors graduate from any of these rosters. STA and Little falls are of course the front runners with loads of young talent. with hermantown out of Section 7 i think they can make back again (Denfeld and St. clound cathedral will be tough though). Section 7 looks tough but my pick is going to the I falls if youso and hjelle stay if not, hibbing because duluth marshall lost its top three scorers from last year. My favored pick to win state is STA (sorry hawks). My upset pick is I falls (Can't win if you can't score)

as someone who must know what its like to lose 10-15 seniors, how can you say this? Hill made it back this year, nothing in impossible.

Good point. Hermantown lost 10 Srs. in 2006 and won it in 2007.

Moorhead wont get past Roseau to go to state and that's all that matters at the end of the day.

Hardy was a huge loss for H-Town. Without him they definately wouldnt have gone undefeated and wouldve had a much tougher time at state. he was very underrated.

Call me crazy but I think Buffalo may be the second best team in 8AA next season. I know I am running a homer mouth but the team was very young this year and returns all but 4 seniors and 60% of its scoring.
Remeber this is a team that did beat Duluth East this season.

Buffalo's Sophomore class is loaded with talent and their goalie is back for his senior campaign and is a great leader. If next years Junior class works during the off season and stays injury free many of you may be talkin about the Bison next season....mark my words. Bison to play Roseau/Moorhead/Edina/Cloquet and others next season...should be interesting to see how they do.
