Bahneman is a senior so he won't be around next year, though Adoyfin (sp) is their biggest loss IMO. Lourdes has a ton of scoring coming back and a decent goalie. Though with their defensive miscues and no real stong defensemen I doubt they'll be as dominant as they were when they last were in 1A

I saw a thing on the news that Austin has had 80 athletes suspended for MSHSL rules violations in the past 3 years. The AD Tim Hermann sounded like it would be a huge issue to overcome but that they were working on it. Austins hockey program has gone from an annual top contender in the Big Nine to a doormat. One thing I noticed this year is that the Big Nine is heck of a lot more entertaining when Austin is good, they have great fans and make for alot of good games. I hope they get things turned around over there.

Zamboni, I don't really care what your gripe is with Nystrom and AL hockey but they really improved over the year. The first half they were an undisciplined group but that changed and they were a fun team to watch. So what if AL got bombed in the Consolation final, they gave Warroad all they could handle and if the refs actually called Marvin for either one of his arm drags that would have made Goodnature proud on those two face-offs the game may have ended differently. They also played very well against a talented Little Falls team. At some point you have to congratualte them for what they accomplished instead of blame them for what they didn't.

GOLDY313. Read all of my post. I say it like it is, I give credit where credit is due. Your rite, they played better hockey when they stay out of the penalty box. They went back to there old style in the Orono game and had alot of penalties. This is not a good thing to do when playing against a team that has alot of SCORING POWER and a " HOT GOALIE. " HAVE A NICE SUMMER, EH.

AL went to the state tournament 3 out of 4 years when Casanova has been in the net, yet you come on here and let it be known that he had a shaky last game. Give me another goalie in the state that has gone to state 3 out of 4 years. It might take some digging. No problem for you though, you probably have some free time between jobs, if you could keep them.

I feel really sorry for your poor wife. She is such a nice person and here you are making a fool of your self. Does she know you are doing this or your children? Well stated capt. obvious. My feeling is that he is a person who has never really had a good friend (or any). This is a way for him to get the attention he desires. I'd like to know what his thoughts are when he runs into a person that he has been bad mouthing, because they all know who he is. For someone who I believe has no friends, this is not the way to start looking for some. Even though it won't be easy at times, let's all just ignore ZAMBONI because I'm sure it will make him feel dejected without the attention anymore.

GOLFREAK. In your post #81 you said that the reason Albert Lea went to state in the last 3 out of the 4 year's was because of goalie Casanova. PLEASE DON'T SUGARCOAT IT.

03-04 went to state and lost in the consolation championship. You had some scoring power/ weak goalie.

04-05 went to state and won consolation championship. You had Very good scoring power/ weak goalie.

05-06 CHOKED in the section semi-finals. You had No scoring power/ ok goalie.

06-07 CHOKED in the consolation championship. You had No scoring power / "HOT GOALIE"

Good lord, the whole ignoring him lasted long...

I think Lourdes and all these teams moving to the section is great. I think next year with Lourdes, Albert Lea, West, and Faribo(of which I know) will all have some solid teams which will make this into a pretty competitive section. I would kinda like to see AL or West make it to prove that the top end teams in 1A really werent that bad. In the 4 past years 1A has had some respectible showings at the state tournament. I hope the thing people realized from this years state tournament is that there really isn't a lack of top tier talent in southern minnesota is that there is just not enough of it to compete with the big boys every year. I thought Centurys top line for the most part was as good as any I saw, I mean that #19 could really fly. I just hope strengthening up this section can lead to competitiveness out of the south and hopefully a run at a state title sooner or later from 1A.

When did I ever say that the reason that AL got to state is only because of Clay? He did contribute big time, but there have been others before him that played a huge role the first two years. Jonny Breur, Casey Schumaker, Tyler Hegwood, Travis McKinney, Dustin Trail, Corey Ellertson, Peter Bracker. Those are all really good players who made major contributions with others that I probably missed.

Clay was a key player for AL all four years, never did I say that he was the only reason he got to state.

Don't overlook Red Wing and Northfield. They will be right in the thick of it with Lourdes, AL, West and Faribault. The depth of this new section will create an entertaining, intense playoff. None of the teams can afford to take a night off next February.

Lourdes loses Bahnemann, Adafin and Amundson (who was hurt most of the year).
Northfield loses the talented Pumper kid.
RW loses Adam Bailey, who is definitely an imposing force, and Droogsma.
AL loses Walton and Casanova.
West doesn't lose anything significant (I may be a little naive there).
Faribault loses Hetletvedt and both goalies. And maybe Helgeson (I'd like to see him stick around for one more year)

Tons of returning talent:
Lourdes - the super sophomore line that they had this year (Voigt, Funk, Peterson)
Northfield - 3 of their top 4 returning scorers - Docken, Dyrhahl & Saari
RW - Their top 3 scorers - Schammel, Kesti & Halvorson
AL - Three 30 point scorers - Royce, Woodside, Bowman
West - Theire top 5 scorers including the omni-potent Lievermann & Litchfield and a quality goaltender
F'bo - May return 5 20 point scorers (depending on Helgeson)

It's going to come down to whoever has the most depth and goaltending. I know that sounds like a copout, but there is a ton of top notch talent that will get some recognition statewide.
