Since we have one certain poster on the board that doesn't understand the difference between a team and a program I thought a seperate thread may help him.
1. Roseau 7 State Titles in 5 different decades.
2. International Falls 7 State Titles in 4 different decades.
3. Edina 6 State Titles in 4 different decades.
Looking at the state tourney book these 3 programs stood out winning more than anyone else and doing it in more than 2 decades.
1-Roseau-7 state titles in 5 different decades/31 state tourney appearances/most games won at state/most goals at state/most championship appearances/
2-International Falls-7 state titles in 4 different decades/19 state tourney appearances/36 games won at state
3-Eveleth (Eveleth-Gilbert)-7 state titles{5 as Eveleth and 2 as EG in the 90s}/15 tourney appearances/4 straight titles/13 straight tourney appearances/33 games won at state/oh probably the greatest rink in MN
4-Edina-6 state titles/21 state tourney appearances/40 games won at state/
5- gotta go with Bloomington Jefferson with a slight edge over Duluth East
Note-these are teams since the tourney was established in 1945, cuz i know there will be arguments about how bad Eveleth really was
Edina East and Edina West should be included in Edina.
I'm pretty sure nothing AP said is untrue. Hill Murray has and has always had a very good program.
One thing that works against the private schools is the state Championships/appearances in a private school league. St Thomas has 4 State Championships. One in the 20's and two in the 50's, not sure the association, but they are not listed on minnhock. I know Duluth Cathedral (now Duluth Marshall) went to state for 9 or 10 years straight in the 70's but not sure what association that was with either.
Edina tries to merge the accomplishments of four schools, three of which were playing simultaneously! A simple name change is just not the case, but Ankles Pierre wonders what Hill-Murray's records would be if...
Most (34) State Tournament Appearances since 1961!
Most (21) MSHSL State Tournament Appearances since 1975 league merger!
Most ( 7) Goals Scored Single Period in a State Tournament Game!
Most (15) State Championship Games since 1961!
Most ( 1) Undefeated Seasons in the post-1975 One-Class All-School MSHSL!
Four ( 4) State Championship Teams in four different decades!
More D-1, TeamUSA, Olympic, and NHL Players than Most Favorite Programs!
Most Stanley Cups for Defensemen!
Most Miracle on Ice Goalies!
Most Hated by Bigots of the Bored!
Best-Looking and Smartest Students, Faculty, and Alumni!
I will challenge the last statement..... I bet some of the other schools may have just as or better looking and smarter students, faculty and alumni....

We'll call AHA: "Hill-Murray West!"
Then call CDH: "Hill-Murray East!"
BSM can be: "Hill-Murray Morningside!"
What were the four schools? Edina East, Edina West....
No, it was a really small school, like Morningside was its own township you could say for a while and it had a one man police force for 40 years or so. If I understand AP correctly he put BSM in as them as they haven't done anything yet to contribute.
Just look at the records from the State High School Hockey Tournament and it's obvious that Roseau, International Falls, and Edina stand above the rest.

It depends on how you define the "top programs" is it their accumulated wins/state tournament appearances? Is it how many great players they have produced or it is their consistency with respect to their winning since the 1950's?
If I were to base it upon a combination of all the above I would have to say
1) Edina
2) Roseau
3) Hill Murray
4) Grand Rapids
5) Duluth East
In no particular order
If it was how many great players they have graduated or had play for them in the past ten years it is Holy Angels.
