EGF in 08

Post by Warrior18 »

how do u think this team will do in 08. They have a lot of juniors coming back. I see them making a run to the section championship.

They have quite a bit coming back. I don't know if it will be enough to get past Warroad, TRF, and Bemidji. Park Rapids does not lose much next year either although I am not predicting them or anybody else at this point.

win it all

Even though they fell apart against TRF this year, I believe they will make it to state next year.

New coaches 2nd year and hopefully, he will have a better control over the players.

unless warroad finds a goalie, egf should be regarded as the team to beat in 8a. with warroad # 2 . the newbie , bemidji at 3. ( yes bemidji)p.r.,crox,trf at 4,5,6, (put them in any order you like) and the rest of the section is ,well, its just that ,the rest of the section.

EGF returns the majority of their team, including starting goaltender Christiansen. What has to happen for them to be the section favorite is
#1 Defense have to step it up and be more consistent
#2 They need scoring from more then one line
#3 STAY OUT OF THE PENALTY BOX!!!

They should return as much talent as anybody in the section, they get a couple of nice pickups from the Bantams that should fill a few leaks pretty nicely.

Well I think newbie Bemidji will definately be the favorite.
They handled EGF quite easily last year and with Warroad losing most of its team they shouldnt be much of a problem.
Wish we were still AA but I guess we'll just have to beat up on EGF for a couple years.

Yes,EGF,Warroad,Bemidji are the favorites but you also have to figure thief in the running dont you?with coach bergys history of developing his squad throughout the year his teams cant be counted out.the moves he made between the end of season and his teams section run were nothing short of brilliant.

how can some of these people be predicting bemidji to win the section...
they lost to DL this year, who scored 8 goals against them and DL didnt get past the first round of sections. Bemidji will be a top contender in a couple years with their quality youth programs stepping up, but they wont win the section next yr. I would say warroad and EGF are the favorites with TRF and PR right behind, should be another interesting yr in section 8, anything could happen

p.s. anyone know if any seniors are leaving early for juniors out of this section?

The only brilliant move Bergie made late in the season was getting Cody Bottem back from injury :!:

Warrior07 is right. just because Bemidji beat EGF last year doesnt mean anything. And beating up on EGF for a couple of years? EGF beat Bemidji 2 years ago and it didint mean anything this year.

Bemidji beat EGF in the 1st game of the year. EGF spent 90% of the game in the penalty box. The 2 1/2 minutes they were even strength in the game, EGF was the better team.

Favorite - Warroad (Ravendalen, Shaugabay, Pieper, Vatnsdal, etc.)
Contenders - EGF (Good group returning, Christiansen), Park Rapids (Don't forget about Lehrke here)
Have a chance - Bemidji (Don't know much about them), TRF (Lose basically everyone, but do have some fowards returning), Crookston (Always in the mix)
Very small chance - DL, LOW
No chance - RLF, Kittson, Bagley

Warroad doesn't have Vatnsdal next year. He graduated this year.

Pretty tough for DL to have a very small chance in 8A next year. I'd say zero, since they are in Section 6A :D

I am disapointed trf isnt getting more consideration for being a front runner in this section, best rink in area, best training facility in the area, one the largest communities in this part of the state, ummm, what could we be missing?
