Sounds like there's a lot of that going around. You'd think that once these kids got older there would be an honest tryout. Seems to get worse as they get older, not better.

My bad, only 1 from Virginia, that being Hendrickson. Had my wires crossed, was thinking about McFarlane from Cloquet.

I know the kid from rapids made it. A slew of Rapids players made it.

Define "a slew". As I heard it, a couple of good ones were left off. Is that because there were 9, and all 9 deserved to make it and they had to be "fair" to other towns? Seems like it.

There are always a slew of GR players at the 15 level, funny we don't see them at the final 51!

goalie from hibbing/chis should have made it,only allowed 3 goals the whole weekend.
also jake stompahar should have made it his second game he had 2g 2a's, i wonder how many of the final 102 had as good or better than that for one game? very,very,few. he had other points also! he will prolly be like his brother and be overlooked until they cannot hide him any more and then make final 51 (just like his brother john), to bad!

I wasn't there, so I couldn't make any assessments. Have heard from many throughout the state, that the D12 team could have been a little more diverse. Was told that only a few on the team actually deserved to be there. That statement came from several parents of players who were actually on the team. Was also told that not many of the evaluators attended the losing brackets games. 12 or so in the upper bracket as compared to 3 or so in the lower bracket. The odds of being seen once they reached New Hope were lesser because of their showing in TRF. That's the rumors, some of which I picked up in Grand Forks this past weekend from parents of players from D16. Also heard from parents in the Shattuck District whose team played D12, and also from parents in D6. I guess it is what it is, and quite possibly people are right when they say that the 15's are far more political and far less important than the 16's or 17's.
