HOBEY BAKER TRIO

Post by formerallstar »

The final 3 hobey finalists have been announced. Here they are as well as some of their accomplishments this season courtesy of USCHO.

David Brown-Sr. Goalie-University of Notre Dame
Ryan Duncan-So. Forward-University of North Dakota
Eric Ehn-Jr. Forward-Air Force Academy

David Brown First in the nation in GAA with 1.58, 2nd in the country with a .931, and led the country in wins with 30. His record was 30-6-3.
In addition he helped Notre Dame to their first CCHA regular season championship as well as first CCHA playoff title

Ryan Duncan has 31 goals and 26 assists in 42 games. Ranks fourth in the nation in scoring and second in goals. WCHA player of the year and led the WCHA in points, goals, pp goals (17), and game winners

Eric Ehn had 24 goals and 40 assists for 64 points in 40 games. He ranks second in the nation in points, goals, and assists. First service academy player to be Top-10 Hobey finalist. Led Atlantic Hockey in points, goals, and assists. He set a single season Air Force record in points. His faceoff % was 63%.

So who do you guy's think deserves the Hobey? My pick is Eric Ehn. I just think what he did this year with the team he was on was amazing.

I'm routing for Ryan Duncan to win but I just don't think he's going to get it. There is no way a player from the AHA wins this award, can't happen, ever. I'd like to see someone like Toews play those teams. David Brown will win it, I don't want him to, but he will. He plays for Americas team. The reason I don't see Duncan winning is because he's not even the best player on his team. That's nothing against him and he has had the best year out of anyone but Toews and Oshie are just better.

I wanted Duncan to win but i didnt even think he would make the final three. I first thought Curry from BU would win it but he didnt make the final three and of the final three i thought Brown of ND would win.
