Ugly game yesterday. Frankly the hitting from both teams was terrible. There was an inning where Boof walked two batters and struck out three. He did not have good control, his fastball was continually up in the zone, but looked like he was having success getting righthanders in particular to swing at his slider away. He only lasted five innings because he had to throw so many pitches. If my memory is correct the Royals stranded at least one batter in every inning he pitched.

And Grienke wasn't much better. When he hit Hunter I thought it might fire the Twins up and rattle him but he actually seemed to settle down and the Twins went down meekly for a few innings in a row. He hit another batter later in the game and I was surprised he wasn't kicked out. Guerrier retaliated by hitting Reggie Sanders in the 7th. If this game had not been as tight as it was I might have seen a bench clearing brawl.

It looks like Morneau is trying to pull everything as every ball he put in play was to right field. Now it made sense late in the game, he hit a bomb that went off the baggie, but earlier in the game it resulted in a weak dribbler to the first baseman. He's in a little slump here and I'd like to see him go the other way more often.

And packerboy, your hopes for another hitter may soon be filled, Lew Ford may be coming off the DL soon. Just what we need, another outfielder with no pop...

Seriously, watching the Royals, it seems like Reggie Sanders might be a good fit for the Twins. He didn't have a great season last year, but he's hitting .359 this year and has put up decent power numbers in the past. And the Royals really don't have a need for a veteran DH. I think he'd be an upgrade from Cirillo or White but the Twins seem to be enamored with those two so I don't see any moves to replace them.
