A coop is a catch 22. Obviously, it would put the team into AA. However, it would still be a smaller enrollment than most AA schools.

The catch 22, is player development. At the present scenario, many players are allowed opportunity at levels, that they would not normally play at. Ex. 7th and 8th graders getting varsity playing time, kids get to play varsity hockey, that may never ever get to play in this scenario. On the otherhand, competition for positions would exist, depth would exist, a faster level of hockey would develop. The players that were able to play at this level would get better. That is one reason, many people play summer AAA hockey. It requires their child to increase their skills to compete.

Yes you would lose those rivalries, that many have grown up with and enjoy. I doubt a coop would ever happen.

I personally enjoy the big schools and the drive that is created among athletes as they strive to be the best. I also enjoy the reload factor, and not the constant rebulid scenarios. Your goalie goes down and there is another in the wing.

Obviously, referring to Tinysota's and RSI's daughters. :P :P :P

Jet use a few more broken sentances. It makes the AL fan base struggle to understand.

Hey Twin,
At which school does said math teacher work?
One of the other players told me that 14's dad applied along with his brother. Any truth to that?

Nice, so much for a Nepotism policy. AL makes it so easy. The Reverse Nepotism policy. Like I have said. Every practice. One big family reunion.

Ok because of the fact of an AL-Austin co-op being such an awful idea.. :( i had already begun work on the uniforms... we will go back to why Jet's daughter should move to AL instead of Faribault... I'm sure she's a very intelligant girl so she could easily take college classes at our RCC- In Faribault she would take Faribault high school level classes aka AL middle school level classes

We not only are taking her to state but preparing her for life!!

#14's people would be a bad idea. The playing time would be slanted even more. Can a coach really coach a team, at the high school level, with his daughter on the team?

From my vast knowledge of hockey, I would recomend that RSI and Tinysota coach the team. With their combined 8th grade education, they would have more knowledge than any other AL intellectual. They would be fair and not offer any special priviliges to their daughters. Their resume would include years of valuable contributions to the forum.  In fact, maybe every parent in AL should apply. This could be some type of democracy. :P :P Jet you really do not want to move into that envoironment.

Faribault is the greatest.

falcons,
I appreciate your endorsement, but I think I'll pass. I have too much fun just watching the games to get that involved. In other words, to be perfectly clear, there is 0% chance that will happen.

I endorse falcons89 for the coaching position at Albert Lea. Any opposition? I wonder what the players would think?

Impressive. I guess there was some mileage left in that old joke...

I don't know why I didn't think of this sooner. We have our own local hockey expert, someone who knows the game inside and out, someone who has connections to all the great coaches, someone who knows what it take to be a champion, someone who has accomplished much in their own hockey career. There isn't anyone on the planet that knows as much about hockey as this person. ZAMBONI is the man for the job.

Interesting thought. New Section 1A ratings.

1. AL ( coached by RSI and Tinysota.)
2. Faribault
3. Northfield
4. Austin with #12 as their goalie. She beat us once in nets a few years ago. I bet nobody out there knew she played goalie once.
5. Austin with the canvas goalie.
6. Redwing
7. Austin
8. Waseca
9. AL U12 team.
10. Finally, AL with ZAMBONI as their coach. The one true resident that could screw up, the perfect team.

Faribault is still the greatest.

Hey falcons,
Have you signed your daughter up for Denny Bray's Southern Minnesota Hockey Camp yet? The camp will be held over a 2 week period at Albert Lea's City Arena in July and will only cost you $150 (chump change for a guy like you :P ). It appears Jetjock is involved a bit too.

I have heard some talk about this. I hear Jet wants to get a full AL team and a full Austin team signed up and maybe others and do some type of a round robin on the weekends or weekdays. That would be fun to come down there and kick some AL butt.

AL arena concessions aside, I just learned of the camp this past week and haven't heard who has or will be signing up.
