How do u figure that? Singer barely passed the way it is. Yeah, Singer may have set him up for some of his goals, but put him inbetween a couple grinders and you got yourself a sweet line, with Pitlick racking up the points.
considering singer did get drafted into the ushl...he must be pretty good i guess...who cares anyway pitlick is goin to national development team in ann arbor right?

I don't believe Pitlick has been invited.

I don't think they were in any particular order.

Four players who simply amaze me are:

F - Zach Budish - Edina
F - Mike Fink - Hopkins
D - Aaron Ness - Roseau
G - Mike Lee - Roseau

Budish is massive! He is a beast in the corners and can make a play. I think he is a solid player.

Fink...Wow...Kid can take over a game if he turns it on. Scores, it seems, on will. Going to UND. Not too shabby...

Ness - This kid is one of the best defensemen I've seen in a while. The only thing against him is size. And that's not bad considering his skill set. He's going to U of M. That's pretty nice.

Lee - He is technically sound. He only played a bit but his numbers were crazy. I think we need to see more to judge, but I think he is one of the better goalies in the state.

Pitlick got invited to the National Development tryout but didn't get selected, so he will be at Centennial this coming year. Singer is a pretty good player but he is definatley going to have to learn to pass the puck. Pitlick will be reunited with incoming sophmore Lovick, the two of them worked their magic together two years(Both years winning the ship), given they are paired up on the same line they will be a tough duo to top.

Keep in mind, the jump from Bantam to High School is a big one. Young Lovick will need to adjust to the speed and size of older, more mature athletes. Especially in a challenging conference.

o ya I forgot about Ross "Big Nose" Fricke

this guy is 210 pounds of pure muscle and will knock any player in the state right out of there skates, Fricke is just one more reason why stma is gonna be a team that everyone will fear when they see them on there schedule

The 1st three are rock solid high school players. We do need to see more of Lee to judge him. He should have had his seventh shutout in the 'ship with the solid D in front of him. The crossover move on the lone goal for Rapids does not seem like stellar technique. Looked like he blocked his own vision. His save percentage and record were stellar. He won't surprise anyone this year. Nearly rock solid, but not quite yet.

After watching a few summer league games. Colton Roy from CEC will be one to keep an eye on next year.

Budish is hands down the best Junior forward in the state next year. He's big, athletic, skillled, two way and team player. I hear he is a quality kid too.

If he continues to work on his skating, he could be a 1st round NHL pick someday.

Apparently, his dad has been seen talking UND and U of M coaches.

I watched alot of model camp with my son, we saw Max Tardy tear it
up with Rob johnson from East along with their big defensemen Joe Arbor.
I beleive Tardy and Arbor are juniors and Johnson a senior next year.

Best un-committed Juniors (to be)

Post by hockey59 »

Lets stick with the players who currently are un-committed - I like:

Ben Hanowski
Danny Mattson
Nick Jensen
Joe Howe
Zach Budish

Ness, Oliver, Landman, and Lee. Two solid forids, a very gifted defenseman, and a stalwart in net. A very good core to this team. Another junior defenseman, Ryan Weston is a very solid player as well, just not one of the top in the state. Very good player though.

Budish, Hanowski, and Mattson are at the top of this list as well.

If I had to pick the best junior in the state, i'd go with Aaron Ness. I don't think any junior in the state can do everything he does.

I have to agree with your top pick - Aaron Ness. I saw him at the Roseau DQ last weekend and he is not a big kid, but bigger than Neal Broten was at that age. On the ice he is amazing. He absolutely dominated Patrick White. Others would be Sam Rendle, Tyler Landman, and Mike Lee. Edina obviously has a good group, too.
