Proctor Rails

Post by Rocketwrister »

I hear the Proctor boys job is open. What are your thoughts on this team and the program. (if you know about it) Would it be worth to take a shot at it if your a coach?

Just curious as to what everyone thinks about it.

Thanks!

It would be a great opportunity for someone. A program that needs a turnaround. It could all start with a new coach.

seasonal rink + low player numbers = tough job to get above .500

Old coach

I heard the old coach is applying for a different job within the district so he stepped down.

Has the assistant coach been there for a long time with Gunderson?

I had heard that there is a 2nd assistant coach from the Rails that is interested. I beleive his last name is Christian (sp). He helped out with the 2a3aa Advance 17 team. I only met him once. Seemed like he was interested in the job.

Schnobrich was assistant coach of the year for 2a, a couple years ago. Problem I've heard is that his work schedule does not allow him to be present at all times.

Gunderson situation appears to be sugar coated on this thread. He is becoming busy with youth hockey and combined with Filzen and company gone and keeping the team from fist fighting each other in the locker room, it was probably an easy decision for him.

How was Proctor's varsity team last year. I know their youth teams weren't very impressive.

Really?

7A22A- You seem to know a lot about Proctor. Can you give anymore insight to in? Was there a lot of problems on the team last year besides Filzen?

I'm curious..thanks

Proctor was poor last year, and won't be good this year, but it would still be a good opportunity for someone to coach high school hockey in Minnesota.

Either a player or someone who the players talk to and tell what goes on in the locker room would be my guess.
The U invented swagger.

My guess is the second of those two possibilities.

Well, I guess that no one knows much about this team. I'll have to keep an eye on these guys to see if they're as bad as everyone says next year.

I heard through the wonderful grapevine that it is definately Schnobrich, they just had to wait for a school board meeting to officially announce it.
(Didn't hear if this meeting had taken place already or not)

I also saw that the Rails won the section 2a academic award in the proctor journal. At least these guys are good in the classroom.

I also heard through a reliable source that Schnobrich will be taking over.
Hopefully he can turn things around.
