Anoka's O'Neill to UMD
Hello and good evening-
John O'Neil has verbally committed to the UMD Bulldogs! He will participate in the Select 17 Festival in St. Cloud later this summer. Looks to be a nice addition.
Any thoughts regarding what type of player he is?
Thanks,

Anoka in 2008
In reality, John O'Neill will get plenty of help next year from some stellar teammates:Stars67 wrote:MR.HOCKEY MR.HOCKEY MR.HOCKEY MR.HOCKEY MR.HOCKEY MR.HOCKEY MR.HOCKEY MR.HOCKEY MR.HOCKEY MR.HOCKEY
Anoka's only hope next year!!! It is all on John O'Neill
Forward Cory Belisle - has played 3 years of varsity hockey and tallied 98 career points, and has an invite to the Elite League.
Forward Berkley Scott - has played 2 years of varsity hockey and tallied 56 career points and has an invite to the Elite League.
Defenseman Jeff Lesmeister made the MN National 15 Select team and the Final 51 for MN Select 16 & 17 and has an invite to the Elite League.
Defenseman James Campbell was an alterate to the MN National 15 Select team prior to suffering a devastating injury in November 2005, but is now fully recovered, had a great varsity season during 2006-2007...is an intimidating hitter at 6'4" and 200 lbs and has a try-out for the Elite League on June 30th.
Goalie JD Wells started almost 1/2 of the varsity games for Anoka last year.
And regarding quickqyms comment above...O'Neill to UMD (7AA), Nico to MN (7A) Youso to MN (7A) Hjelle to UMD (7A)...I think the coaching staffs at these Divison 1 schools are better evaluators of hockey talent than you - ENOUGH SAID.

I still think that there are better players in 7AA next year!!!hockey59 wrote:In reality, John O'Neill will get plenty of help next year from some stellar teammates:Stars67 wrote:MR.HOCKEY MR.HOCKEY MR.HOCKEY MR.HOCKEY MR.HOCKEY MR.HOCKEY MR.HOCKEY MR.HOCKEY MR.HOCKEY MR.HOCKEY

O'Neill to UMD
Unless your seats are located near the seats occipied by the UMD player parents...I'm not sure why you'd care?forecheck wrote:Is he the kid who has the very loud dad??? I have heard him scream
too many times if it is the one I'm thinking about. Hope he tones it
down as I have season tickets to the Bulldogs!
Nonetheless...I have it on pretty good authority...that you won't hear much noise from his dad in the future...at least at UMD games.
He does have a younger brother who will be a 1st year squirt next year for Anoka...so his dad will be around (the rinks) for many more years during the winter and summer.
Well if you think there are better name them the only one who compared with O'Neill's speed and talent was Keagan Flarety of East and he is gone so I am curious to hear who your ideas are, and some of their credentials because I think O' Neill will have them in every catagory and he plays in the toughest confrence in the state unlike some of those northern boys.

which tends to be a showcase for individual talent rather then team play.
I noticed John had 0 points thru game 3....MR. HOckey?
John O'Neill is a very talented player and the fact that he already has a Division 1 commitment to UMD should help solidify that. I wouldn't put a lot of stock in his point production in the Select 17 festival - so much of that can depend on who you play with, strength of your team, etc., etc. John had 50 pts last year in a pretty tough conference with 25 of those points being assists - I think he's a team player! Good luck to you John.
