Yeah, they should be able to sneak past Breck, Blake, Mound, Orono, Richfield and St. Louis Park into the section final...

Sorry but....
What is it that happened over there that is going to make such a big difference over last season?

C'mon
Lets hear some names or something that will make it this a bit more believable.

STMA will improve ........ someday.

The high school coaches are currently running their third straight summer STP program for the high school and youth programs. The numbers in STMA are growing from the bottom up so eventually STMA will field competitive teams.

The one caveat to this is a second sheet of ice is urgently needed due to the growing numbers. Youth teams are not receiving sufficient ice time and this will hurt in the long run.

What are the chances of a second sheet?

Not too good at the moment. The youth association has been running some fund raising events but it will take many, many years to raise enough money.

The best chance at another sheet was a couple of years ago when there was a contingent referendum tacked on to the referendum for the new STMA High School. The rink referendum failed. I don't know if there will be another referendum in the future for a second sheet.

But did they get their fair play points?

I appreciate your enthusiasm, but don't believe they will be dominant at all. No conference championship or section final appearance. I would guess 4, 5, or 6 in the conference (thank you BBL) and an appearance in the section tournament (only thanks to the MSHSL mandating all teams participate). STMA would definately benefit from fair play points! 8)
