I expect that some of this will change with this being a preliminary version.

2 High School teams in the U-19 Tier I? Ouch, Good teams but not AAA U-19 good...I would expect this to change as well to keep the integrity of the tourney.

I get the feeling there are girls out there who do absolutely nothing but play hockey all summer.

I know some over- fifty guys who do nothing but play hockey all summer. Still trying to improve their skill sets. Don't blame them or the girls; it's by far the most fun game to play at any age.

Slight change to American bracket (team change) - other than that looks pretty similar to posted above:

To ensure a full 8-team bracket, we pulled together a team to play last minute in the 10000 Lakes/Wal Mart tourney AAA division and saw the Stars for the first time tonight. The shot and penalty count was quite lopsided in favor of the Stars, but even had this not been the case I think they are a very solid young team. I was most impressed by their team speed. They and a similarly strong young St. Croix Saints team are definite teams of the future in AAA. They are not as big and strong yet as other AAA level U19 teams, but they are so young! U18 US Select Team player Wild was on this team too for this event. The final score was 4-3 against the Stars, but they launched 30+ shots to about 10 for our squad while spending roughly half the game on the PP. They scored their 3rd goal to pull within one with an extra attacker with 4 seconds to play so they battled to the end. Unfortunately there was some miscommunication about the eligibility guidelines for this AAA event, and the game goes down as a 1-0 forfeit in favor of the Stars after their post-game protest of the use of some just-graduated, but still U19 eligible, players. As a result, the Stars move on to face the MN Wild U19 AAA (Schmid) team featuring Trunzo (Ms. Hockey finalist) & Holmes (U18 US Select Team) tomorrow at 445 Rink 4 Super Rink in Blaine. Here's the AAA brackets: http://www.nscsports.org/tmp_images/Wal ... vision.pdf There also is a HS division and the bracket for that is at: http://www.nscsports.org/tmp_images/Wal ... vision.pdf

At a recent hockey tourney, someone mentioned that a new 16U team called the Minnesota Lazers played great up in Winnipeg and are entered in the US Cup! What a competitive tourney this will be!

I assume they put a booklet out with rosters at the event? Not sure where they would be online unless the rosters are posted on the team websites somewhere... Would be neat to have the Pointstreak like the tourneys use out east where you get full boxscores, etc.

Is that right? How does a team with a lot of names get beat by a bunch of no-names? ghshockeyfan must not of been coaching. :D Or were the blues missing a lot of talent?

A bunch of no-names??? Look again....
The Blues were not missing talent...ghs hockeyfan was most definitely coaching....and trying to help the officials a bit
Pink played very well-as good as they have played all year.

This one is correct, and for the record there are some very solid players for the pink. McNamara (G) & Panthers played well, capitalized on their chances, etc., etc. Lots of special team play in this one. "Coach" almost got sent out of the rink during this game! Extremely talented Blues group on paper, but the game is played on the ice. 8) Frustrating 9:20A game followed by this 2:10P one for the squad made for a long morning & early afternoon! :D Take a look at who the Blues play tomorrow @ 8:40A too... It just gets tougher!

U19ApA-ICECATS ELITE - HIRSCH (MN)
Brianna Decker
Kathryn Farni
Danielle Hirsch
Caitlin Hogan
Chelsey Jones
Jenna Kilpatrick
Emily Kranz
Christina Lee
Michelle Maunu
Anna McDonald
Sarah Murray
Ashley Nixon
Sammy Nixon
Shannon Reilly

Someone needs a diaper change.
I think both teams had power play chances. Pink had them the first and the blues had their's in the second. Both teams had 5 on 3s. And GHShockeyfan was the coach.

Hmmmm, no names eh... Well who decides who's a "name". By the way this is the second tourney this summer the Pink has beaten the Blues. Time to re-think who's a "name"
