Vikings' schedule: http://www.nfl.com/teams/schedule/MIN
The Vikings have 4 great preseason games, all against good teams, that could show good things (or bad about the season). Only one of these games is on national television. Will local TV be picking up the others?[/url]

There's no such thing as a "great" preseason game.HShockeywatcher wrote: The Vikings have 4 great preseason games
I don't know who picks them up in Duluth, but in the Cities, Channel 5 airs all of them.

That's cute. Thanks Govs.
Next thing. How much does the pre season matter? We started the season 6-0 a few years ago without making the postseason, showing the start of the isn't all it's cracked up to be. Does the preseason do anything for the fans and the hype of the team or is it merely practice games, much like scrimmages in hockey that mean nothing?

I agree, it's ridculous that they charge the same... it's also bogus that the 1/2 season ticket packages also put you on the hook for 1 preseason game... if you're going so far as to pay for 4 regular season games to support the team, why would the team kick you in the nuts by forcing you to pay for a preseason with it? Like sheep, we go into the Dome for a preseason game and are just happy as heck to be paying full price to do so.
Compare that to being in Fla or Arizona for a spring training game that costs $20.
We love our Vikings.
That aside, I'm not sure why people go so nuts about actually going to games in the first place. Don't get me wrong, I can't get enough football ( I've been locked into the NFL Network at home and NFL Radio at work for the last month and a half to get myself prepared for the season - it's sad), but Vikings or not, I just don't care for actually being at the games. Between the injuries, 6 time outs per half, halftime and the tv time outs, there is so much damn "dead time" while you're there, it almost makes me wish I was at home being nagged by my wife!
I was actually given tickets for two games this past season and they were the first 2 games I'd been to since 1991 when Barry Sanders ran for 220 yards and 4 TDs against the purple (as icing on the cake, our car was towed during that game). I really could take it or leave it. I'd rather be at home, or at the bar with my friends where I can watch other games during the downtime, and not wait in line 15 minutes to use "the little Vikes' fan's" room. As long as Sunday Ticket exists, I don't really see me itching to go back in there for a Vikes' game anytime soon.
