Two different classes, two different positions, two different grades. Boblee why even compare these two...because they are both small, quick and good stickhandlers? More likely the Dainty one and Pipes (unless he's warrior4) or THEIR dad's are probably the two yes men. And I didn't vote because it's pointless..... :?

I don't think you're understanding the concept here. It's a semi-random draw based on hype/chatter/ability - it's not meant to determine who the best player at each position is, it's meant to determine where all the the hype is and to find out "who to watch" so to speak. Here's ESPN's explanation:

"Editor's note: Throughout July, "SportsCenter" will air "Who's Now," a daily series in which fans and ESPN.com users will help "SportsCenter" determine the ultimate sports star by considering both on-field success and off-field buzz. Based on fan nominations, ESPN Research will select the 32 finalists, who will then square off in a single-elimination bracket. Before then, however, we need to hear who you think should be in the bracket. Check out the Page 2 list and then discuss in the ESPN Conversation pages."

Besides if he lined them all up by position, you'd end up with crossover in the 2nd, 3rd & 4th rounds anyway.

Govs u make a really good point on that of the hype/popularity/ and ability thing. People need to realize this and vote these aspects. It is dumb when people vote like take mike Lee for example over Nick leddy just becasue Lee is probable one the best goalies in the state. But leddy has came on strong making the national team and gettig all the looks. He is one of the "Now" best defensemen in the state. People need to get their facts staight on what their voting on.

In other words....this is a pointless popularity/name recognition contest used to fill in the summer months because there's nothing of substance to really discuss. ESPN actually uses this as filler instead of broadcasting the National Paper-Rock-Scissor or Syncronized Swimming Championships and Poker re-runs...it also gives Stu something he can handle as a host. Just because ESPN does something like this do we have to stoop to something this cheap and cheesy?

I agree that the ESPN version is pretty bogus... I mean who really cares? We all know who the top 3 or 4 athletes in the pro sports world are. Before it ever started, you knew that at least Tiger and LeBron James were going to be there... mostly because ESPN shoves them down our throats (primarily LeBron).

But I think boblee may be onto something with this. It's a statewide topic starter of one specific sport where you can get a sense of where the mindsets of people in different areas are, and without the usual media interference. It gives all of us an idea of who to watch for this upcoming season straight from the mouth of people who have seen, or will see them, and a forum for a more "structured" back-and-forth.

I like boblee's - hate ESPN's. Kudos, bob... next time get a Governor in the mix, would ya?!

Ness is the real deal. Lightning on skates. Smart hockey player. Plays way above his size.
