I think some of you guys need to drop it pretty soon. Do you really think Watchdog is going to investigate it and actually cares what you think about him? NO.Wisconsin Coach wrote:"Man Up" Watchdog, contact them and then come back on here and give the results.
Watchdog needs to move on and come to the realization that sometimes teams use players that are not on the roster and maybe even older. My son played summer hockey for several years and I've recognized kids playing on the opponents teams that did not have them rostered AND were older. Whoopee, big deal, get over it. Did we go get the tournament director and cry foul, no, we played with what we had and left it there. We even thanked them for the game when it was over, win or lose.
Again, it should be about development and having fun, if you really want a trophy, I'm sure I could find a couple for you.

RLStars you are right on one thing, this should be dropped soon.
FACT is Watchdog called the 94 Blizzards "Cheaters" and said he would prove it. I simply have tried to assist him in his investigation and hold him to his word. If he bails out then all on this board will know he is just another complainer with no creditability. If someone came on here and said "RLStars is a cheater" wouldn't it be fair to request proof of that?

the end
if i do ever find out i will let you know. what you gave me is a list of people that arent gona tell me anything. lets face it they were questioned at the tourney!??? all of a sudden their gona come clean? give me a break im not as stupid as you might think. im working on getting the check in list at the hotel in fargo if i can get that it should provide some answers possible. now that yeah got me started you might not like what i find...
as a past aaa player i really feel that if you play against an older team you learn more than if you play your own age group. As a minor bantam we took our team to colorado to play in a 91 tournament as 92s. It was rough hockey but it was so much funner than coming back and playing some joke of a showcase team or a team with few players. Summer hockey is there to prepare you for winter. If a player wants to play down and not challenge himself then he is just helping the kids who play against him.

OK Watchdog, let me try to help you some more since you cannot believe anything Dan Johnson or Gary Suter would say.
Don Kohlman at WAHA would be your best bet, he has all the previous USA Hockey registration records for Wisconsin.
Or you can go straight to the associations these boys play for if you wish: Mosinee, Eagle River, Lakeland, and Tomahawk all in Wisconsin.
Keweenaw and Little Caesers in Michigan
Rockford in Illinois
You can find contacts at the following links:

Let me know if I can help with anything else.

not so
The Wisconsin team didn't fair all that well, I think they went 1-3 in the round robin but won their consolation game. They had a very raucus excited crowd with them though..fun team to play..they went out on us 3-0 in the first (car legs on our squad I guess)..the crowd was going nuts..then we layed 6 on them in the second and you could hear a pin drop..I think we added 2 more in the third...but they had about 3 players that really stood out..you know MN and WI aren't buddies, our Coach was hilarious, our last game we were shutting out this team and he actually thought about letting them score because if they did, the WI team would have been out of the consolation...LOL..but it didn't happen, played it straight up, but it was a funny story after the game...too bad our kids didn't show up for the championship..got hammered by a team we lost 3-2 in round robin..go figure.

cyclones
USA Cyclones..which is run by a guy out of Tulsa, Oklahoma with a mix of kids from Boston/Colorado/NJ/Syracuse/and 3 kids from OK and couple other places... THe Boston contingent play for the Middlesex Islanders...their top line tallied over 250 goals last year enroute to a 33-2 season...nice group of players and arguably the top kid on the east coast...but, they're 13 so who cares..our team had a great time and will remember the beach party and boats more than hockey in a month or 2..know what I mean.

Re: cyclones
Do you have the names of the Islander kid(s)? I should be watching the best 94 MA kids play this weekend and am curious who to keep an eye out for. Middlesex definitely a top east coast team and you have to respect the EHF, it'll be interesting to see how mid-am and atlantic district kids stack up against the boys from MA. It'd be more interesting to see the best from MN, MI & NY...jancze5 wrote:... names
don't like to post kids names on a board but it's nothing in vein so..
Doane..best player on the east coast by far...total beast in all aspects of the game at this age..surprised he's not already enroute to culver/shattuck or somewhere else..
Morgan...better hands than Doane..not as physical but a finisher and plays all parts of the ice..
Somerby..nice player..slow footed but the kid just plays and can score..moves the puck and sees the ice..
Of course these kids are only 13 and are the product of the early puberty gene that helps some kids at the younger levels, but sometimes you just have to root for kids that you see and seem to be just athletes and play with passion and feisty attitudes...
I know 2 of the 3 will be at the pre-prep showcase this weekend in Boston...if that's where you'll see them, if not the Ronald McDonald tourney later this month..and know I'm not suckin there whatever, I'm just saying what my opinion is on these kids that I've seen for the last 5 years grow up to this point...that's all...

as for the MI NY MN
As for the Michigan-Mass-Minn-NY thing...
In about 3 weeks there is a round robin set of games going on down in Chicago..the Blades will take part with Detroit Compuware-Chicago Mission and I believe Little Caeser or Honeybaked is the 4th sqaud..it's multiple levels and will stack up "some" (don't shoot me, we all know the Blades don't represent the TOP players at every age level, they only represent a portion of those players) of this type of talent. Should be a fun weekend of games leading up to the winter season when everyone here heads back to their associations in September.

Overage players
Watchdog, you will never find an answer that will satisfy you, let it go. Both you and your child have the experience of playing against good competition, enjoy it. The ability to play at competition at or above the level of your team only makes them better. When they come back to play in the winter they will be better for it. Considering a team from Wisconson takes top players from different areas they may have some kids who hit a growth spirt early, hit their peak in skills, and so on. In another year or two your team may have caught or passed them. Along with the coaches listed, I am assuming that they have top quality practices and develop those skills on a regular basis. Sit back and realize that you will never find the answers you are looking for...let it go. Wisconson guy is taunting you and letting your anger get the best of you while he sits back and laughs.

Hello Buffalo Bob, no laughing from here, Watchdog called Blizzard 94 team "Cheaters" and I am just holding him to his word. (OK, to his type)
Look thru this topic, I used his own quotes and have given him all the connections he would need to verify the players ages. I am sure there are some cheaters out there, but not as many as there are "Excuse Makers" that accuse very good and talented teams of being cheaters.

Re: no parent
If someone wants to cheat who cares. All you really want is good competition and if the cheating creates that well then everyone wins. If the cheating team is so good that noone can compete, what have they accomplished? nothing You might be able to get your $150 back for that game. Stop complaining and start explaining. Tell your kid how little the game mattered and the opportunity will only improve his/her developmnet. Because when he gets to HS. none of it matters.watchdog wrote:i am a parent so what if i dont spell to well im not holding a gun to your head and making you read my post.. i see their has been alot of negative comments that should be addressed. first of all the comment about my kid will have to play seniors in high school when hes a sophmore what does that have to do with this thread? heck my kid will be playing against 92s all winter in bantams the point is these tourneys are age spacific hello!!!!!! its not a 92,93,94 team its a 94 team birth year only period. 2nd thing the wisconsin team was turned in to be checked by three diffrent coaches if you read my earlier post.. what is the tourney director to check the fake birth certificates???? they might be a class orginization but i know their guilty here and im gona prove it sooner or later just for the principal of the matter and if im wrong i will personally come on here and apoligize. (i now thats not gona be the case) i know its just a game and i dont care about the stupid trophy. i give every trophy we have won as a team away to other kids on the team (not mine). it is just a game so why do people have to cheat thats the point of this thread and what could be done to stop it. and one last thing for rl stars on your little quote on perfectly said from a guy whos lived it. pretty bold comment for someone that has no idea who they may or may not be talking to. i have been involved in hockey for 36 years is that enough experience for ya? for about 28 of those years most of my time has been dedicated to HOCKEY!!!!!!!!!!!! oh and wisconsin did win the tourney someone asked that too. one last thing to think about on what a stupid comment pucknutz made.. so pucknutz when your kid is playing a game or a tournament do you want the team to win???? im confident your answer is yes. so heres my real quetion is it so you can get alittle metal or trophy to bring home with little johnny? how stupid are you?

Cheating is NOT something that anyone should condone, what lesson is being taught to those on the "cheating" team. So, I care!
Same can be said about the people who want to make an excuse for losing,
what lesson is learned by teams that hears their coach cry "The other team cheated"
Challenge any team suspected of cheating. go to the Tourney Directors. No tournament wants cheaters. And for the players on teams with coaches and parents that cry "They Cheated"!!! tell them to get the facts or pipe down.

Cheating is not condoned
We are not condoning cheating. It has been my experience that those who cheat suffer a fate worse then forfeiting a game. They develop a reputation and they lose all respect by those in the hockey community. This affects their player.
Remember In order to play at the highest level in AAA you must be
1. a good player
2. a good kid
3. have good parents.
If any of these are missing your opportunities will be limited. There are too many good kids to be wasting time with bad apples.
Getting upset because you lost a game to a team that cheated is a waste of energy. Chalk it up to experience and let the system take care of itself. What is the tournament director going to do make them forfeit the game. So what they still walk away knowing they beat you on the ice and their victory is that much sweeter because you complained. Maybe they don't let them play the rest of the tournament which is not very likely because they have to meet their commitment to all the teams. Dropping a team means somebody loses a game. It is an unpunishiable offense because you can't take away what was done and it affects others that are not involved.

Excuse Makers
You are correct on the affects. Very true on high level AAA.
I disagree on the "waste of energy", expose the cheaters. The sooner the better. I have been at tourneys where a players age has been challenged and players were removed from the game and games forfeited. I have also seen challenges on suspected players and the player was found to be of proper age. If we don't" waste the energy" then coaches like Watchdog can just say "Blizzard 94's are cheaters" and give other teams and coaches the impression that it is a fact when the only fact is that the Blizzards won with a talented (all 94 birth year) team and Watchdog had to be an "Excuse Maker" (sore loser, poor sportsman, etc)
Stand up for what is right, stop "Cheaters" and stop "Excuse Makers"

wI coach
i have never heard such bull3434 in my life!!!! when you act like you know everything when you werent even at the tourney. 2nd of all i never cared we lost the game. we dont have a great team its set up to play in the easier tourneys like the pepsi cup so we meet teams of similar abilities. i simply was starting a topic of conversation i dont lose sleep at night over the game i wasnt even mad when i was at the game. i was simply stating what i saw and asked the question why do people feel the need to play older kids at a birth year tourney. now i dont have the time or the ability to prove my claims but i will tell you this youll never change my mind or opinion either. ive been around hockey for 36 years and i trust my opinion alot more than some guy from wisconsin. i live in the heart beat of hockey in this country and if you think you can teach me something i find that funny. if you have so much time and resources why dont you prove me wrong. first youll need a tape of the game to see the actual players not what the roster says and go from there. its tuff to prove even from that. all i can say is every coach in that tourney that played that team thought the same as me. i know several of them and respect their opinions. as for you i dont know but i do know alittle about wisconsin hockey and its not that good so their goes a rather large percentage of what you say right out the window. this is my last post on this subject. your the one making yourself look bad at this point and i will gladly let you continue. people who actually know hockey know where im coming from on this and thats all i need to know. the only reason you can care so much is maybe you are one of the coaches of the team and if thats the case come clean. that could have put this to bed along time ago.
