The reason I think it's interesting is that is that it hasn't happened before. Metro kids that have gone to UND in the past have either spent time at SSM or the USHL. I'm trying to think of the last metro player that committed to UND while still playing HS hockey. KarlG ? Bochenski ? I believe they both played Jr's before committing to go up to UND.Gopher Blog wrote:Having a good laugh over somebody's comments is edgy? You have to admit, it is kind of funny for somebody to act like some new ground is being broken simply because of the Twin Cities HS angle. It's not as if these are the first suburban TC kids to ever play up there.

SB, you bring up good points.
Like you, I cannot remember a kid still playing HS hockey committing to UND. However, the commitment climate has changed. Kids seem to be committing earlier these days vs. prior years.
Additionally, I believe Cary Eades might be the hardest working Assistant Coach/recruiter in the WCHA. The guy is seen everywhere and is involved with USA Hockey at high levels. His hard work may be paying off.

A verbal commitment is only worth as much as the paper its written on...Hockeyguy_27 wrote:Things were different 10 years ago.
