Garret Orhn - Greenway
I know there will be a pile of metro guys too but I have not had a chance to see this age group of kids play much growing up.
I think those selections are great

Adam Knochenmus- Very fast, Great hands, and can make plays
Derek Forbort- Size, Smart with the puck, Needs to get some better speed for high school hockey
John Skrbec- Strong physical player, Has some good hands
Matt Youso- Fast, Great vision for a defenseman, and some good hands
Mike Fink- Great player but a junior next year
Garret Orhn- Good hands, Good speed, Maybe needs to learn to pass more just my opinion

One more I would like to add is Christian Isackson-Great hands, Decent foot speed, and has great vision

I think Adam Knochenmus and Christian Isackson are the best two in this group both should score alot of points next year on varsity

I saw a kid from Buffalo parents said he was older but is going to be sophomore next season. Kid was fun to watch, very fast, great hands and solid shot...very sturdy for his size and blew through Rapids defense...saw him dominate Marshall as well...very nice player

Throw Kevin McMorrow form Park Rapids in the mix. Big, Rangy d-man, good hands, plays really well in the corners.

Mattson,Taft and Walters may be the best I've seen. Don't know many of the kids from up north though. The Breck team is also full of very good ones including, Fulton, Borer, Born & Morin. Spring Lake Parks goalie is also very good.

Walters, Mattson..........yes. Taft, I don't think so. He won't be much of an impact player on his Edina team, third line at best. Walters and Mattson have demonstrated that they ARE impact players in high school.

Taft out..........put Nate Schmidt in.

Mattson won't be here next year so I'd count him out. He's at Ann Arbor. He's a stud but you can't count him in if he's not playing here.

I disagree about Taft. He is a great player with good size and play making ability. He'll be a player and is one of the best sophomores this season. Being 3rd line on that Edina team would probably make you 1st line on most teams.

Both Hebel and Mcmorrow. Hebel being a forward from warroad and Mcmorrow being a defenseman from park rapids.

Ryan Wolter, transered from MV to White Bear, great player. Should be a nice addition to the Bears. Definitely look out for him in his Junior and Senior years as he is one of the best '92 players in the state, playing on the Minnesota Select 15 team this past spring.

We're talking about sophmores making an impact their SOPHMORE year, not their junior or senior year. Making Selects doesn't make much of a difference, an example being Paul Prescott of Hill Murray making the National Team for Selects as a 15 year old but not managing to make the varsity team. Let's see if he can make the jump.

How did he do in the 16s?

Interesting information

Wonder how much that information changes and how often. Kids develop and grow at different rates over time. Even a 6 month time span can make a difference. Do you know when that information was updated last?

Hard to go completely by that list. Not all upcoming sophomores played high school hockey last year. Many were 9th grade Bantams. It appears this list only includes players that played at the high school level.

I'm not sure if that was directed towards me with sarcasm, or if you were just saying it was an interesting article.

Sicknasty,

No sacrasim intended, (I save that for GoBears!) I just thought it was an interesting perspective from a theoretically neutral party.

I would put Tyson Fulton in this group too.

No question. He looked very good in leading all players in scoring in last weekends 3 on 3 tournament at Velocity in EP. Just like his older brothers, this kid knows how to put the puck in the net.

what about MArk Alt, a D from CDH - he went second overall in the futures draft and is rumored to be talking with the Gophers as well as the Badgers. He will be VERY good. He is already 6-3 and his dad is 6-7 so he has at least a few inches to grow, Im just warning people.

#4 Charlie Taft for Edina, even making that team is an accomplishment. and i think he will contribute and have a very solid sophomore year. Say what teams their on too please, for the list.
